Kenwood KRC-390 cassette receiver wiring connection

Hi. Have just brought a KRC-390 from our local auto dismantler. What are the connections I should make? Speakers OK, but the others?
Have a Black, presumeably earth, a red with 7.5A fuse (+ve?), a yellow with 3A fuse, and a blue/white wire.
Will it work with just the Black to earth and red to +ve 12V, or do I need to bother with the others (no CD changer, no electric aerial.
Thank you very much

SOURCE: how do i connect a kenwood krc 394 radio cassette

Head unit color code:

12V-Yellow
12V switched-Red
Ground-Black
Illumination or Dimmer-Orange/Orange w/white stripe
Blue-Power Antenna
Blue wwhite stripe-Amp turn on

Whites-FL speaker
Greys-FR speaker
Greens-RL speaker
Purples-RR speaker
(Black stripes negative)

If you have a female harness to connect to the veicle side you will pretty much color match. The only exception is that you may only have an amp turn on wire but only a power antenna on the vehicle. In this case you would connect blue w/white stripe wire from radio harness to the blue antenna wire on the vehicle side.

If you are doing a hardwire (factory plug has been cut off) you can obtain a wiring code for your vehicle at www.the12volt.com for most vehicles.

Hi My player will never remember any presets if it is lefft turned off for a period of time. Help Geoff

sounds like you may have the yellow wire connected to a switched power source. the yellow wire needs to be connected to a constant power source that is always hot to retain preset and clock memory.

If there was no spark and wires hooked up wrong in the first place, your player should work if you find the PWR lead and the Remote lead and ground. Then speaker wires +) and (-
