    Hi Kevin
The only drivers on the disk, or on Citizen's site, are for Windows

    Hi findmeifucan

As Microsoft seem to be catering more and more for the personal/domestic computer market we as a company have decided, as have many others, Linux is a better OS so taking a drastic step like going back to windows is not an option for us, thanks anyway

  • johnsonb85 Sep 20, 2008

Sorry, should have said I have already tried all the obvious option's what i need is someone who can tell me how to get it to work there must be a driver out there that will work the printer its just finding it I have been told by Citizen that the printer uses datamax 400 emulation! also that some zebra printers have the same mechanism as some Citizen printers but it would take forever to go through them all to find one that may work.

    Hi Lee
yes thats my next option but I wanted to explore the driver route first as we have got something like £2000 worth of labels on rolls that are to big for any other printer I have researched so far

It may have been mentioned but you will not find drivers for this. What your smart option would be is to research a printer first that works with linux and then purchase it. That way you have a compatible printer. Sell the printer on craigslist/ebay and upgrade to a printer that will suit your needs.
Thanks,
Lee

There is no way for you to use the rest of the labels on a windows machine just until you run out? If you have a moment as you should have found my information at least helpful and could accept and rate the solution accordingly and also I am here to assist further if need be.
    Thanks,
    Lee

i just check from my sources the dirver is not the driver disk nor available any where as Citizen does not specifically produce drivers for the Linux operating system.

So the only option is to use the printer on win OS computer.

What else do I need to type labels on my citizen clp=621. Iv'e down loaded citizen driver 7.3.5.exe. I can not find the cd that came with the printer. I cannot find the file to type in the info I need. how...

What you need to do is purchase the label printing software for the printer. I do believe the CD that once came with the printer's packaging was just the printer drivers for the Windows 95-XP edition operating systems; and one had to buy the software program separately.

In any event, there is a company called Bar Codes Inc, that sold this discontinued product you own...their phone number is 1-800-351-9962. Perhaps they can help you

There's an online company called seagullscientific.com that sells software for this label printer too.

Here are the phone numbers to the printer's manufacturers/distributers:
United States of America (310) 781-1460
Germany: +49 (0) 711-3906 420
United Kingdom +44 (0) 20 8893 1900
Japan +81 (0) 42 468 4608

I have no personal or financial interest in any of these companies; just trying to help and pass on good info to you.

LABEL NOT PRINTING CLEARLY

On the right hand side of the print head is a blue thumb wheel. ensure this is set position 9, this will give you full width print. This adjustment is for setting narrow width labels.

I am a Reseller and one of my client is having Citizen CLP-7202e. due to the faulty print head we have tried to change the print head and after changing a new print head, printer is not printing...

I have used this type of printer before. Long ago when it was called the C-ITOH. However, never had to change the print head before. I would imagine that if you did - all the adjustments would need changing. Bad Gap would skip labels and bad pressure would make them too light or too dark. If there are any vertical lines (even faint) the print head is damaged. Also, these things are very specific as to media vs ink roller. You cannot use a paper ink roller with mylar labels. Vise versa works but those rolls are more expensive. I am sure you have tested this already but you point pretty exclusively to the "new" print head with your testing. Sounds like you have answered your own question. I would do some continuity tests on the head to see if it carries any current at all. Good Luck!

How can you adjust the image being printed. i have too much room left at the top of the label

You need to adjust the top and or bottom margins in your document then save the document after you are satisfied with the way it prints.
