Firefox, but i've also tried IE 7, IE 8 Beta, and am now back to IE 6. I've updated my drivers. Have Nvidia GeForce Ti4200

I appreciate the time you are taking on this.

    Uninstalled Spy Sweeper. Didn't help.

Can't completely turn off my firewall. I click off and it says it's off, but when I open security center it says it's on.

  • Trudy Caswell Oct 06, 2008

When you said to check my firewall I didn't know that my router had a firewall. After getting a new computer and still having the same problems, I was about to pull my hair out. I realized the only thing the two computers had in common was the connection, but still didn't get it. Finally I stumbled across something that made me check and discovered the router firewall.

It's Westell, and my ISP is centurytel (DSL). Westell's site has, right on the first page, big as the bailout, "Firewall". Of course, as soon as I turned it off my troubles were solved.

Thanks for trying to help me. If I'd known what you were talking about I wouldn't have blown up my old computer trying stupid stuff.

I just hope this helps somebody else some time.

So far from what you tell me you shouldn't be having any problems.  What kind of antivirus software do you have?  You might try temporarily disabling it and then see if you can get a big fish game to run.

  • jkgstl May 11, 2010

Okay, your computer should be able to handle Java okay, what web browser do you use to surf the internet?

  • jkgstl May 11, 2010

Right click on My Computer with your mouse and then click properties.

Java tends to be a resource hog, how much RAM(memory) do you have installed?

I am trying to open a yahoo email account not facebook not google is it possible

Hello there!

I would first ensure that your java is up-to-date by visiting:

https://java.com/en/

Download and install the latest java which is appropriate for your operating system, then restart your PC.

I would also recommend clearing your internet cache and cookies, by downloading and installing "CCleaner":

http://www.majorgeeks.com/mg/get/ccleaner_standard,1.html

When installing the program, be sure to uncheck any "extras" it tries to offer you. Start up CCleaner, and run a cleaning on your computer.. being sure that it is set to clean internet cookies, cache, etc.. Make sure that you don't have any web browsing programs (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox) running!! Run the process. Once it finishes, close the program.

Start up a web browser. I recommend Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.. (NEVER Internet Explorer!!)

Try to access your yahoo email. If it works, great!! If not, I (like most of the other answers here) would HIGHLY recommend that you just do the wise and safe thing.. and create a gmail account.. It's free, and FARRRR more safe and secore than yahoo.

I hope my answer helps!

It is possible that you have a stale cookie on your system. Logging in will put a cookie on the system, so try cleaning your cookies or using a different browser. There have also been some recent upgrades to the PayPal home page and some JSP or CSS file didn't load and is causing the login to hang.

White Zombie - Sorry, but its not viruses nor malware. Zynga games are notorious for not working properly. There are hundreds of people that are experiencing the same issues as her and none of the solutions of cleaning your computer, Scan it for viruses etcetera, work. Its something Zynga has to fix on their end.

Download, delete and reinstall, or update the latest drivers for your hardware, get latest java; video/audio codec; flash; and delete cookies and cache on your Internet. Also use Mozilla firefox not Internet explorer (also update to latest Internet engine)

i would uninstall java in a complete fashion.. remove it with revo uninstaller located on majorgeeks.com.. use the advanced mode to remove old registry entries, and also program locations within your system. then go to filehippo.com and download the latest java version..before you install clean your browsers with ccleaner. do as system defrag, and re-check your program files to make sure there is no empty folders of java left.. also type %APPDATA% in your search run bar in the start menu to look for any folders of java located deeper in your system files.. and please try to clear your prefetch folder before you install.. if not, then just follow the instructions i have listed excludeing the prefectch clean.. do your fresh install now, and reboot. try it now..

Connection is close due to a specific site we browse

Hello

It sounds like you may have either a memory or a video card problem on your system at the greatest.

  1. I would start by downloading the newest firefox from mozilla.org Install the new firefox and open it
  2. go to www.flash.com and download the latest flash files, it will be the button in the middle of the screen, as soon as you get to the website. (If you see a movie play, that means your flash is up to date)
  3. Then go to www.java.com and download the latest java.
  4. Close Firefox and re-open it, then go to Tools > Clear Private Data > Select Cookies , Cache and browser history Click ok.
  1. Close Firefox and re-open it
  2. Try adiciting games website

This should work for you. Let me know if your still having problems.

Java problem using pogo games

Try flushing your Java cache.

Start > Control Panel > Java > Temporary Internet Files (Settings) > Delete Files.

You might even try UNchecking "Keep Temporary Files on My Computer".
