Question about Washing Machines
In UK. Just over a year old, the washing machine runs fine but does not heat the water. I've checked the element its ok (about 40 ohms) but never gets any supply to it. There is a temperature selector control, a controller board, and a temperature sensor. I have tried the temp control in different positions but no difference. People have said if it doesnt heat up the cycle will stop, but it doesnt, so I conclude the controller board thinks the water is hot or the selector is in the full cold position. Can you give me any advice please?

Most washing machines do not heat water, they merely let the hot water into the wash tub that comes from your house hot water heater.... when selecting warm, hot and cold water will be mixed together to get warm or when selecting cold.. only the cold water is allowed into the wash tub.. Please provide brand and model number of machine so I can tailor a reply toward your specific washer...
