As you may know by now there are keypads and then there are keypads. They must be made to work together as there are some that are not compatible. Posting your model numbers might help a little.
If you mean wireless keypad it is like this. Locate the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Press and immediately release this and then walk over to your keypad and key in your 4 digit code and press enter.

If I am correct, there is a green button on the opener. Hold that down until it stop blinki ng. Once it has, pres the opener. It should read the code and work the next time you hit the opener remote.
