BigFatGeek-even though I don't use IE I did try that browser with the same results. I then followed your instructions (all boxes were already checked). So I uncheked and rechecked them then restarted IE, same results. Please keep the suggestions coming, I'll try anything/everything.

Note: I assume you are using internet explorer, so these are directions for internet explorer. If you are using another web browser let me know.

In internet explorer at the top on your menu bar click on tools > then click on Internet Options > Click on the Advanced Tab > In the box that says settings scroll down until you see the section titled "Multimedia" Make sure the box that says "Enable automatic image resizing" is checked. Make sure the box that says "show pictures" is checked. There are also some other boxes here that would be good to make sure are checked as well such as Smart image dithering and play sounds in webpages, and play animations in webpages. The show image download placeholders does not have to be checked. And always enable clear type for HTML does not have to be checked. After you have clicked those boxes then click apply, then click OK. You may have to exit Internet Explorer and restart Internet Explorer for the changes to take effect. I hope this helps, and let me know if you have any more trouble.

How do I get external screen on laptop to use on a TV screen?

It really depends on the type of equipment you have. Does your laptop have a HTML port? And does your TV have a HTML port? You can google your Dell laptop on how to make the config settings for displaying on an external monitor (TV) for your particular laptop model. I have done it with the VGA port to an external monitor very easily. The HTML will need some special settings depended on how old your laptop is. Good luck.

Hello, I have compaq 6375s and display can't power on.Key board show orange indicator but display is blank. Can you help me find problem. I home that is no graphics problem. Thank you very much

So you have no screne on, but the powerbutton is orange or the Caps lock?

if its the power button, that indicates a motherboard problem, and with a laptop thats a bit more than tricky and costly to fix.

if the Caps lock / Num lock thats orange - it can be a number of things - if its blinking, it usually can be the RAM that is unseated, or in some cases the hard drive...

if it is the ram, turn over the laptop, and usually in the center, is a cover with what looks like a square with lines adjacent all way round. The cover looks like this -

unscrew this when the laptop is off and battery removed. The Ram is the small chip inside -

ensure that the RAM is securly pushed in. On either side of the RAM chip is a silver arm, that when you pull away from the Chip, releses the chip. You can remove the hole thing and seat it securely.

Give this a shot, ONLY IF YOU FEEL CONFIDENT, and try to re-boot.

failing this, i suspect a motherboard issue

Dropped my laptop, an Acer Aspire 7720-6569, from like two feet high. Now when i turn on the laptop the screen does not show images correctly.I get like top half the screen displaying correctly and like...

There's a chance the cable at the display end is partly unseated. You said you took the laptop apart and checked the cable, but the cable has a plug at the other end as well. You'll need to disassemble the display to get at the back side of the display panel. Then you can make sure the cable is seated in its connector. You need to remove the screws holding the front bezel to the back lid, which may be hidden under rubber bumpers or decorative covers. Use a thin flat object like a putty knife to separate the bezel from the back. There are snap tabs holding it in place once you have the screws out. With the bezel off you'll see the screws holding the LCD panel in place. Take those out and you can see the other end of the data cable on the back side.

If the cable is properly seated at the display panel end, you'll need a new display. If the cable isn't at fault, the fall damaged some of the internal connections between the display's driving electronics and the pixels themselves. If this happens there's no way to get inside to fix them, so the only cure is a new display.

You know the inverter and backlight lamp are both good since you can see the display. If the inverter is bad the light won't come on. Then you won't see anything, or you'll be able to dimly see the display if the room light is right. If the lamp is bad, you may have the same trouble, or the color may be off, or the display might be brighter at one end than the other. But in your case everything looks fine except for the data being displayed.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!

Can't download to my laptop

First, you must set the camera to take RAW pictures. Check your manual for the correct procedure. Second, you must have a program on your computer to read the RAW files. Sometimes, cameras come with software to do this. Photoshop Elements and Photoshop are both capable of reading RAW files.

Media Center file types

Yes, file extensions, .gif, .bitmap, .jpg are case sensitive. Just like if you tried to save a word document as .DOC then the file would look like test.DOC.doc. Change case and it will be fine.

Download sp41532 - HP USB Line Display Configuration Utility from HP website.
Run the file and the Utility will come up as shown below
The COM Port would always be COM1.

SD card

Once connected to your PC you can copy virtually any file to the SD card and transport it home. However, in doing so you do risk the possibility that the camera may not be able to properly display the existing images on its LCD screen. The files won't be damaged, so they can be manually copied to the PC afterwards. In a similar situation, .JPG images you obtain from other sources can be coped to the SD card for temporary storage, but the camera may not display them properly. In any of the above cases when a problem is experienced, manually copy the files to te PC anf reformat the SD card IN THE CAMERA.
