The LCD screen might be defunct. Call warranty and ask for repair or replacement.

Oh sorry, I have been trying to solve so many problems on FIXYA.com where i just misread the person's issue. I hope this will not happen again.

I have read on some informational websites that the red light indicates that the light sensor is set after the red light stops blinking. No problems here.

Red light is the indicator for the light sensor. When the TV is just warming up it will blink momentarily or intermittend and then stop permenantly. This process will happen every time you turn it on or off.

I have a philips dlp 55pl9773 has one red flashing led on the front when i do a hard reset tv boots up lamps lites led goes from flashing yellow to green for about ten seconds and then back to red flashing...

MY philips tv model number 55PL9773/17 WAS TURNING OFF THE SCREEN AND LEAVING THE AUDIO ON FOR ONE MINUTE. THEN THE YELLOW LIGHT STAYED ON. THEN THE LIGHT TURNED OFF. thEN I TURNED ON WITH THE REMOTE AND THE YELLOW LIGHT TURNED ON AND A FEW SECONDS LATER CHANGED TO THE GREEN LIGHT AND THE TV TURNED ON. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, BETWEEN 10 AND 30 IT DID THE SAME THING. NOW IT IS OFF WITH A BLINKING RED LIGHT PERMANENTLY ON. TO TURN IT OFF I HAVE TO UNPLUG IT FROM THE WALL. I REPLACE THE LAMP A FEW WEEKS AGO AND IT IS FINE.

I turn the tv on the green light comes on then the tv shuts off. after that a red light starts flashing.

the red light that flashes is it in the screen or on the power button area. it sounds like your image circuit is out of specifications something is causing a surge in your voltages could be a bad resistor or bad I.C.

ON/OFF button (red - off and on - green) flashing all the time

it is important to count the number of red flashes, if it is 5 then the lamp ballast board has failed, (part #1-468-798-14) if it is 4 then the optical block fan (# 178706511) is probably to blame, if it is 6 then the thermal fuse has gone bad..(# a1137954a)
