If the lens mechanism has been damaged or is sticking from foreign material around the lens housing it will shut down when you try to power on. Once in a while you can try to assist the lens by placing gentle pressure against it when you power on and the lens may retract. This will most likely not fix the problem but it may give you a better idea if the mechanism is damaged or not.

Have you tried spraying a can of compressed air into the lens assembly? All it takes is small piece of debris like a grain of sand to jam up the assembly.

Hope this helps

since you said you dropped the camera the lenz array might have cracked. try tapping the device while the message appears, if it works then you are a lucky one. in no you have to take it to the service centre to get it done. it costs about (50-60)$

Yes you are correct lens is struck

* Carefully inspect around it for dirt or debris

* If you see any dirt or debris around the lens, use canned air to gently blow it away

* After removing dirt and debris, turn the camera on and off

This should work
Hope this helps .
If your problem still continues you need to take to service center .

Thanks for using FIxya

Ok. Make sure that your camera lens is straight and not slanted. If it is then pull it out with pliers. Once you've done that, then take out your battery. The lens should still be out, but when you turn it on, the whole thing will restart and it will ask you the date and stuff. That's what happened to mine. It is now perfectly fine. I hope I helped.
