My rca tv will not come on, the on light comes on and goes off, it does it about 3 times but no picture

rca-model d52w20 hit power button light blinks 2 or 3 times then goes off

first of all you may unplug about 2 hours and try again as symptom shows some internal overheating or power failure going on

Has the lamp ever been replaced on this TV? If not it would be the first suspect. The next time the picture goes out look for light coming from the back of the TV where the lamp is. If you see no light then replace the lamp. Please take a few moments to rate my answer. Thank you...

chirping sound is a short of some kind, could be the flyack or horizontal output, could also be a bad picture tube or power supply capacitors, you really need a tv repairman to troubleshoot this.

1. the supply had a fault and needs to be repaired or replaced.
2. www.partstore.com might have your supply or you can pre order it from them.

power supply problem check capacitors...caution
high voltages..large capacitors retain nasty charge for a long time.........

Check capacitors cp150 ,114, 120 ,if cp150 is puffed up on top it is bad.2200uf 16v and the other 2 are 220uf 35v.

that is a common problem with this rca's check the convergence board for a short circuit
