hi, cheers for trying but my phone is cdma so it doesnt have a sim card, do you know any other ways?

  • O no Sep 20, 2008

not these telecom ones, i have removed the battery and theres not even a sim slot, telecom at least in NZ doesnt use sim cards apart from 1 of their global roaming phones, so even if it had a slot theres no sim to take out. . .

I bought a new Samsung SPH-M510 cell phone 7 days ago. It's connected to the NZ Telecom prepaid network. It was working fine for 3 days then I got an error code 97 when trying to text. I rang and spoke to someone at Telecom voice services... and followed their instructions...which were to turn off the phone then turn it on again. I then entered my lock code successfully. Next I was instructed to turn off the phone and take out the battery. The operator then took my number off the system, then put it back on again. (I assume they meant my cell phone number). I was then told to turn on the phone, replace the battery and enter my lock code...which I did...but my lock code did not work and the screen read "invalid lock code". I have tried it several time and entered the default codes I have been told about bu Telecom...0000, 9999, 1234 and the last 4 digits of my cell phone number....but nothing works. Please help me....I really need to have a working cell phone ASAP.
By the way...what is an Error Code 97 anyway?

    Cheers,
    Sam

If you have not used your own personal code then the default code is 0000,1234,or9999 i have the same phone so i know this works. if you have your own personal number than remove the sim card and do a full reset this will keep you from losing your stored data.....please rate this thanks

so the default codes have not worked? do you have a memory chip? if you do transfer your vital info to it and then do a master reset

I'm afraid that you will lose your contact info if it had a sim card and you did a reset, however considering that your phone doesn't i'm sure that it would be just like rebooting a computer. this is the only thing i can think of at the present time. the only other thing you could try is have your service provider ping the phone and do a unlock from there side of things. all cell phones have gps and the provider can if they want shut your phone on and off from their end. this is a long shot. I can't promise you that you will not lose your info on the phone if you do a master reset.. one other thing the unlock is a 4 digit code have you tried to remember what it might be? something like the same number as your atm pin or or credit pin or something simple. hope this has been helpful.. could you please change the rating i would appreciate it...thanks

the pass word will be 0000,1234,or9999 I assume that you never entered your own personal one on this option

don't turn the phone off just remove the battery and let it sit for a minute then reinsert the battery tell me what happens

i would then try and have the service provider ping your phone they should be able to reset it from their end this is a long shot but i'm at a loss of ideas for this.
