SOURCE: contact transfer from gsm to cdma mobile phone

CDMA phones do not use SIM cards but depending on the phone, most of them will have bluetooth. If not, however, depending on the phone, you can try getting the PC Sync software for the device, and synchronize the contacts to the computer, usually to Microsoft Outlook.

Most CDMA carriers have applications you can download to the phone and computer that will actually let you sync the contacts from outlook to the phone wirelessly (VZW has Wireless Sync which is free www.wirelesssync.vzw.com), or you can try using the PC Sync software for that specific phone to sync back.. If its a Motorola phone, the software costs money (about $39) but other manufacturers provide it for free from their website.

The following links I know work for most GSM phones. Not sure about CDMA versions, but should.

SOURCE: Contact transfer from cdma to gsm mobile phone

You can go into a Sprint Service Center and ask them to use their Cellebrite machine to transfer contacts from CDMA to GSM. If it's a PDA you can always sync your contacts to your computer. You can always Bluetooth contacts from one device to another (LG has its famous "Send all Contacts") as long as both devices have Bluetooth. Quickest and easiest route would be Cellebrite at a Service Center.

Hi, In GSM & CDMA seeting option you have to do the right selection. For e.g. In Slot 2, you have to select CDMA. & in Slot 1 GSM. Then it will work. Hariom

Where would i look to find out what kind of phone i have

In wireless network technology of mobile there are almost all phones use either GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) or CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) technology.GSM is an open, digital cellular technology used for transmitting mobile voice and data services. The GSM standard is the most widely accepted standard and is implemented globally. The GSM provides basic to advanced voice and data
services including Roaming .GSM data is stored in SIM card and the CDMA data is stored in Phone's internal memory. You are free to buy any GSM handset from market. The CDMA Handset is changed through service provider only.In GSM mobile you can use any GSM sim card ,in some situation it will be locked with any particular network ,you can unlock your mobile by any online vendor like http://www.theunlockarena.com/supported-phones/rs13wp7/ or the network provider .In CDMA you can't change your sim card (it won't accept any other sim card) .To know your mobile is GSM or CDMA or any other specification you can check it with

I have replaced the Vodafone SIM card in this phone with another provider's SIM card but cannot unoick the phone.

It depends upon weather you are using CDMA or GSM sim. If you are replacing gsm by gsm then there will be no problem but if you raplace cdma by cdma then you need to unlock your phone. As cdma phones are made for specific service providers and needs to be unlocked for changing the provider. thanks

My nokia c7 phone shows sim card registration failed whenever i insert a CDMA sim. The manual says it supports WCDMA. Please help

The SIM registration failed because Nokia C7 is not a CDMA phone. It is GSM phone.
Also, WCDMA is different from CDMA. In simple terms, WCDMA is a 3G technology for GSM connections just like EVDO in a 3G technology for CDMA phones.
So you have to buy a GSM connection.

Hi I have had to replace my tmobile shadow with a new phone of the same model but how do i transfer contacts from my sim card onto my new phone?

Contacts in the SIM card don't have to be transfer as long as the new phone requires a SIM card to work. The contacts in the SIM cards are automatically shown in the new phone. If the new phone does not require a SIM card (CDMA phone), then just borrow a GSM phone, place the SIM card and transfer it by way of bluetooth.
