Yellow Spot dead center on screen

I have a yellow spot dead center on my screen. Didn't realize it until my kids played "March of the Penguins" - the yellow spot stood out against the white snow. Any do it yourself remedies for this? If not, what should I expect from a professional repair visit? I also have yellow spot. We thought lamp was gone. Paid 200.00 and replaced it. Still there.

First of all replaceing the optical block is like killing a mouse with a tank.
servicers only do that because #1 there not trained to replace a single polarizer
or lcd pannel its quicker and easier just to pull the light engine.
this is how you fix this issue:
buy a service manual,it will tell you how to disassemble the projector.
once you can get to the lcd's and polarizers inspect them, look at the blue polerizer first shine a bright flashlight at it if it is bad you will see discoloratoin it will not look uniform do the same for all of the polarizers and lcd's you will find your problem.if you look around you can find your parts cheap its better than buying a new one.fyi,to much heat cause's this condition usualy clogged filter or not enough ventilation.

Any color spot is never the lamp with this type of set.
the yellow spot is caused by the optic block (Engine). Very expensive to buy.
Little over $1000 plus labour with a qualified technician.
Sometimes technician may try to clean or repair inside but most likely won't succed.
good luck.

I have a panasonic 47" rear projection tv and recently red yellow dots and lines started to show up, what could be the issue here?

these lines and spots aren't external...they are part of the picture itself.

reply would be much appreciated :)

Spots in screen is commonly caused by defective LCD on the optical assembly. LCD replacement is very difficult. I suggest to contact the nearest service center at your area.

Large yellow spot in center of tv screen

Sorry, but there is no cheap method of repair for this unless it is in warranty.

This TV will require replacement of the LCD Prism unit.

This Prism blocks and allows colors so that the 3 LCD images may be mixed to produce the final image you see on the screen. When this becomes damaged or defective, it leaks colors (light). This Color Leakage apears as spots on the screens.

Where you see the spots is where the specific spot on the prism that is leaking light, the specific color that is leaking also.

This parts cost alone is normally $500 to $1000 dollars but is usually replaced under warranty.

Good luck.....

Sony 60" LCD projection TV has yellow screen discoloration

It sounds like you have a bad Blue Polarizer in the light path. I'm sorry but that is something you will have to contact a service center for. It's not something you'll be able to do yourself, I'm sorry, but that's the best advice I can give you.

Yellow spots are appearing in the upper right quadrant of the screen. After the set has been on for a couple of hours a second spot appears in nearly the dead center of the screen. This issue coincides...

Try the new lamp as indicated by the blink codes. That may resolve the problem. If not, the problem is in the "light engine" portion of the set which should be covered under warranty.

Yellow Spot

Sorry that I have to be the one to let you know this but the light engine in your set has a spot that has developed on your lens. It is not possibile to clean this without making your picture worse. The light engine would need to be replaced in your set to fix this and the cost will not be cost effective. Part number is 3141VSN916C and I cant find it at any dealer for less than 1200 dollars.

Yellow spot in center of screen

I have recently developed the same yellow spot problem on my Sony KDF-E50A10  50" LCD television...a large yellow circular hue that takes up the bottom center of the picture and is especially noticeable against a white background.  It has been diagnosed as the optical block (light engine) and without an extended warranty Sony refuses to assist with the repair cost.  Repair was estimated at $1,100 plus tax and travel fees to my home.  So you see, it is not only a Hitachi problem.  You would think they could build something that would last more than two years considering the initial cost of over two grand for the TV !

most likely the yellow dot is due to a burn in the picture on the "green" lens. It's not removable because it's burned it, but you can try cleaning it because sometimes, dots are caused by dirt. The worst that can occur is that if the dot is permanant.
