Question about Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000 Web Camera
I am using Windows XP on a Dell Inspiron 1501 with an AMD Turion 64x2 processor, all of my specs line up to use a VX-3k on my computer, however, it's not working.
After installation, I plug in my camera, it installs the necessary hardware just fine, and the sample video/audio setup wizard works fine. I can see my picture, adjust the focus and other settings at this time and finish the setup. After this, however, the camera ceases from working. Anytime I open software that enables the camera, whether that is the actual camera software, or Skype, I get the following error 7-9 times in a row before the program opens:
[program name].exe - Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point_mbsnbcpy_s could not be located in the dynamic link library msvcrt.dll.
After clicking through the error windows, I arrive at the program, and, for example, in the camera's software the window comes up just fine for the program, but the field that should be showing a video feed is either black or blank. Skype video calls open in the same way, I see my contacts video, but my screen in the corner is black.
