What is the error message when you get the blue screen... you may also try tapping the f8 key as it boots and in that menu boot to safe mode.... if that works fine try booting the computer again... if it does not boot again and tap f8 again.... the boot to last known good configuration.

that's a start.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How do reset my acer labtop to factory setting like restarting the whole thing erasing all data

I dont know if this will work your notebook it work for acer 5515 so try it.
On your Logo Boot ( this is when the acer name shows in your monitor) press "ctrl + f10" or if it doesnt work try "alt + f10"
this must load the recovery system page. Now in the recovery system page
Click on " Restore System to factory Default."
Then click "Next", "Next" then "Ok"
Just wait for the process to finish and when your asked for settings. just choose your own settings.
Now after recovering to factory default. i suggest not to do anything until your pc has completed installing your drivers and various programs.
If you see a "Acer" install toolbar at the bottom of your screen, your pc should restart after atleast 2 seconds.
Now after reboot your pc should now be ready.
Goodluck. Hope i help, please rate my solution , Thanks.

My acer labtop screen is plain black with a little blue box that says enter current password but i dont know the password and i want to reset my labtop back to factory settings

One way to solve it is to gather all the things that you need to format and freshly install a new copy of your OS. You will need:

1. Bootable OS installer like Windows XP or Vista
2. Your laptop's driver installer, that is 1 cd installer shipped with your laptop.

A. Insert the Bootable OS Installer to start setup. Just follow the on-screen instructions and choose the option to delete existing partitions if you want a fresh install. If you dont want a fresh install, just install it using the existing partition so you will not be able to format and lose all data.

B. After OS installation is complete, install the drivers from the cd installer for your laptop. If you lost it, download all the drivers from the manufacturer's site. Only download drivers specific for your particular model.

Why all of a sudden does my HP labtop have a blue screen?

this is often know as the blue screen of death aka BSOD assuming that this problem happened when you were downloading something or maybe starting the computer please note that you have all usb and other compunents other than the keyboard and mouse and monitor unplugged from your computer. after restart it because mostly this is the cause of the bsod

try updating the drivers. That might work. If that doesnt work, it could actually be your video card on the laptop in which case i'd replace itw ith another unit :)
