This the problem with camera hardware and this what canon says about this product hope this information will help:
Important Notice About Your Canon Product: It has recently come to our attention that the vendor-supplied CCD image sensors used in this Canon digital camera may cause the following malfunction: When the product is used in recording or playback mode, the LCD screen and/or electronic viewfinder may exhibit either a distorted image or no image at all. While reports of this malfunction have been rare in the United States, we have determined that it may occur if the product is exposed to hot and humid environments.
Effective immediately, and regardless of warranty status, Canon will repair, free of charge, products exhibiting the above-mentioned malfunction if the malfunction is caused by the CCD image sensor. Canon will also cover the cost of shipping and handling in connection with this repair.

Dear sir, my lcd monitor 17"

That probably has _NO_ affect on your LCD monitor.

You could either:
* live with the problem, spending NO money
* spend $50 to $75 for a TV/audio/video technician to try to fix it
* spend $50 to $75 to buy a used 17" LCD monitor
* spend $100 to $150 to buy a new 19" LCD monitor

The monitor went dark, seems to have no power.

Totally darken the room your computer is in, and see if you can see a very-dim image on your computer.
If so, it could be the "inverter" part inside the LCD that has failed (about a $20 part, but will take a technician about $50 to $75 to disassemble/replace/reassemble/test).

Try connecting the monitor to a different computer, to see if the monitor is OK.

Does anyone know where i can get a schematic for the power supply in the dell 2600 flat screen monitor

I'm sorry to say but Dell does not have support for svc manuals. Your best shot is to trouble shoot it to the best of your ability or take it to a svc center. 75% of all monitor problems are in the power supply, usually bulged caps. Hope this helps a little..

This LCD can work at 75 Hz refresh rate, btw much more healthy for your eyes, you can change it accessing Control Panel -> Display -> settings -> Advanced -> Monitor -> Screen Refresh Rate -> select 75 Hz.
