Or you are using more speakers than the system can load, or one or more of the speakers went down with the impedance values. That is, the problems basically is the nominal or specified impedance for the amp are between 8 to 16 ohms, if you got connected one or more speakers with less than that value, then the final amplification circuitry is working on a high current and therefore more internal heat, this the moment when it goes to a "protection function"
