Question about HP OfficeJet 6110 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Scanning? I need your help please. I am new to this computer and printer, I am working off an HP desktop and have a hp 6110 printer. If i want to scan pictures and save them to my computer, what do i need to do? I have tried many different things; however, there is something that i am not doing correctly. PLease help. Hi
if u have proper installed scanner u see your scanner in my computer .
so u got scsner and camera wizard in my computer.then u opoen it and then folow the procedure.

Does anyone know if Windows 7 fixes the problem that Vista users have with HP Officejet 6110 scan function? ie: not respondind to buttons on 6110 when trying to scan.


yes it will fix the issue :
Need to download the driver for Windows 7 from the hp's website.
Click on the below given link it will help you download the software :

Select your OS;
Select the Full feature Driver;
Click on Download ;
Save to your desktop;
and then run the software;
Then while installation select the "Recommended" option and install it;
Try to scan from "HP Solution Center".. "home"
Also try to print

Also try to scan from the scan button on the printer
This should resolve your Issue

It will not scan. It copies and prints but it will not scan.


I had the same problem-- reinstalling the software with no results. I hooked the printer to my old laptop which had worked with the printer in the past and was able to scan. I installed the "HP Solution Center" which came with a newer printer onto my new 'problem' computer. It recoginized the 6110. I re-set the buttons on the scanner and it has worked since.

Looks like it is a 'driver/program' problem between the printer and computer.

Scan save problem


Not sure if this will work however put the printer CD in the carriage (cancel the auto start). Then do your scan etc... as you normally would. My HP 6110 for some reason will not always see/grab all of the scanner files on an install. If the CD is in the carriage your scanner MAY see and grab them off of the CD when it actually needs them. If that works for you it should continue to work.

Try using the scan program provided by Hp already installed in your computer.
Double click on "My PC" select the OfficeJet scanner icon and do a the right click, and then order to a scan.

when you scan file/s use the scan program not scan button and has feature what you will scan before it goes on processing.

Scan Problem with HP Officejet 6110 All-in-one


Once try to scan from the scanners and camera wizard to check the two way communication between the computer and the all-in-one.

  1. Verify that the all-in-one product power is turned on and the printer cable is properly connected.
  2. Click Start .
  3. Click Programs .
  4. Click Accessories .
  5. Click Imaging .
  6. From the Imaging application, click File , and then click Select Device .
  7. Select the HP all-in-one device from the TWAIN source list.
  8. Click File , and then Acquire Image . Imaging for Windows will scan from the all-in-one product using TWAIN software instead of the HP software.
If you are able to scan by performing the above steps then search for the file hpqscnvw.exe and try to scan from there.

If you are not able to scan even from the above steps, once refresh the USB cable and then try to scan again.

if you are able to scan from that file then try to scan from HP Director, if the issue persists then create a shortcut icon for that file and then try to scan else uninstall the software and reinstall.
