CD Player won't pull cd in.

My cd player on my 2005 GMC truck will not pull the cd in. You can make it go in but it will not play it, however it will eject it, Any idea as to what may have happened? My cd's are all good, no scratches or affixed labels, etc.

SOURCE: 6 cd changer

I had the same problem. It was trying to eject the Cd and getting hung. A lot of times when you get the CD Error message the door will be open a little. I took a CD and pushed it in and caught the edge of the hung CD. Once I connected, I just pushed a little to free it up and then it kicked it out. It happened about 5 times to me. I actually had to go in and remove the CD player once and manually remove the CD. Kind of a pain.

SOURCE: CD Player won't work

Try pressing the eject and load buttons at the same time, with the car ignition in the ON position. You might have to hold both buttons for 15 to 30 seconds for this to work.

Good luck!

Cd player malfunction I have a 1999 gmc sierra that the cd player won't play my burned cds

Check other players to see if plays on any player. I had a computer once that kept defaulting to "data CD" no matter what I was burning, so I had to manually go to the setting and set it for "music".

When I try to listen to the cd's, it won't play them. It tries to acknowledge them but the player won't play them

CD players commonly will not recognize some types of CD, eg MP3 recordings, or maybe CD-RW recordings.

However if this is happening with CDs that would previously play OK, then it could be

- scratched or dirty CD surface
- contaminated laser lens in the player
- laser lens has become misaligned

The last 2 need a service technician, but it may be cheaper to buy a new player.

Envoy 2004 cd player

I had same problem with a 2005 Envoy in Jan '09. I took it to the ex-GM dealer. He said he'd try. The unit would only play using radio.
Mechanic took unit out of dash, and top off of unit. Ejected CD bu moving the eject mechanism. Replaced top and unit.
Works and plays cds. Cost $25.00 And i tipped the mechanic $10.00 for his knowledge.
