Downloading to computer

When I download my pictures to my computer some get distorted or shaded light or some seem double exposed. On my old Dell Windows XP this did not happen. Now I am using a Compac Windows Vista computer.
I download pictures to my pictures and they go to Picasa also and the pictures in My Pictures, that are bad, are the same ones in Picasa. I f I print from camera pics are fine. If I print the distorted picture from My pictures, on the computer, it prints out distorted. Please help me.
Thank you,
Sharon G.

I have a similar situation. A picture will be fine on my camera, but about 5% of the time the image downloaded to my computer is distorted. The color will be correct at the top, but an off shade at the bottom. The perecentage of "good" and "bad" is random. Can anybody help?

Sounds like a Vista or Picasso problem. Suggest you use explorer to copy photos directly from camera to a folder on your computer, then look at them and see if they are OK, if so, it is a Picasso problem. If the same, is likely a Vista problem. If still in doubt. Take memory stick to a photo lab and load on their system and see what you get.

It may be that you have inadvertently set your camera to shoot 'bracketing up' - ie over exposing for every shot. You need to look at the exposure ruler which looks something like this: l---l---l---l---l The centre bar is the correct exposure. But there is a little block that sits where you have got your +/- setting at. +/- is the sign for BRACKETING - where you tell the camera to over expose (+) or under expose (-). With Canon if the little block is to the right of the centre bar then you are telling the camera to over expose. Where is your little block? If it is to the right of the centre press your +/- button and turn the dial to the centre bar. NOTE: As digital cameras are WEAK in capturing highlights it is often better to shoot slightly under exposed - with your block set on the first or second horizontal line to the left of the centre bar. This means you are shooting 1/3 or 2/3 of an f/stop under exposed. Hope this helps.

I have a HL-R6168W about 5 years old. It just recently started making a loud fan/vacuum like noise when the tv is on. Also the picture is distorted meaning the color is bad, greenish blue and hazy. The...

You may have a couple of problems. The shading is probably caused by a defective light tunnel, Samsung is covering the cost to repair this problem on certain models. You can call 1-800-samsung to find out if it is covered. The noise and color distortion sound like the color wheel is also beginning to fail. Both of these components are inside the light engine and I would recommend not trying it yourself.

Pentax SF10 Camera -- double exposure

If you press the film release button like you are going to rewind exposed film you may be able to activate the film advance lever to cock the camera so you can take another picture, and the film should stay on the first exposure allowing you to re - expose it. I would underexpose each image 1 F stop because.you are exposing the same film twice. Double exposures are always an iffy proposition and anything can happen. After the second exposure cocking the film advance should allow the film to advance once again. You might test this on the final pictures on a roll in case the camera won't start advancing the film after you try it. This way you won't blow a whole roll worth of pictures testing it.

It may be a corrupt driver, if you are running xp then go to my computer, right click>properties>hardware>device manager and look down list for graphics adapter. Click on the '+' sign select your graphics adapter and right click and delete. Restart your pc and and xp will find your graphics again and automatically install the drivers. Also check you have no spyware if it is sluggish and clear all your temp files and internet cookies.
