Try turning it on with the shift key down. This gives a safe boot. If it's going to turn on at all, it will turn on then. Also, boot it with Disc Warrior or Tech Tools and run some tests to see what is going on. I hope you find all is well, and that the repairs are just minor. Good luck.

Imac G4 0s 10,4.11 need a flash to watch hulu free tv

You can't watch Hulu on a PowerPC iMac G4. You need an Intel processor based Mac to watch Hulu and Netflix.

Is there an adapter which will allow the Power PC G4 desktop audio speakers (very small mini plug) to fit the G5 desktop (normal mini plug)?

The only thing I have found that will work with these speakers is called the Griffin iFire. It use a firewire port on your mac to power the speakers and has a normal mini plug on the end of it. However, saying this they are not readily available you may be able to pick them up on ebay or another auction site at some point. An review of the iFire can be found at http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/general/54505/griffin-ifire

IMac G4 completely dead!

Well if a new power supply and battery and board reset didnt work you have hit all the stuff it might be other than the board itself.

Best way to retrive your data is get a external enclusure put in the hard drive and plug it into the new Imac.

I have found sometime people have bent or unplugged some ribbon cords in the Imac and they are finicky after that but since yours just happened I am not sure.

Hope this helps. Sorry your Mac isnt playing nice.

Thanks for the help!

Hi there,

That sounds like it would fix it. Have you recently updated the memory in the imac? It may be incompatable. Otherwise it may simply have become faulty over time.

Please make sure that before you open up your imac, you're not voiding your warrenty. I know that the aluminium imacs allow this, but i dont think the G4 versions do.

Hope this helps,

Nathan.

How to install a ram stick

Looks like it is pretty simple to install ram on the iMac g4. Here are screen shots from the imac manual that describes the process. (see below)

Pixelated titanium g4

Your logic board and graphics chips are fine. But it's possible that some of the settings have been corrupted which is causing the problem. To rectify this, first of all in the Display settings (in the system preferences) click the button to 'Detect Displays'. If that doesn't help it you just need to reset the PRAM. Here are the links to the Apple site for instructions on how to do this:

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379?viewlocale=en_US

If the computer is a PowerBook (as inferred by 'titanium' in your subject heading) rather than an iMac then you can also reset the PMU:

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1431?viewlocale=en_US

That should hopefully sort it out. By the way, just to help us out when giving a diagnosis be sure to put the item in the correct category (Titanium g4 isn't an iMac) just to avoid confusion.

All the best

Problem with Apple imac Power Supply

The most common problem with imac G4/800's are failing logic-boards. This will cause the mac to not power up at all giving the impression that the PSU is broken.
If however, you are indeed certain that the fault is with the power supply, they are available from many stores online
