Screen keeps coming up stating that my printer does not have one of its cartridges installed.

Try the following:

  • Remove cartridges.
  • Unplug printer power cord.
  • Plug back.
  • Reinstall cartridges.

If that did not work, try a new set of cartridges.

Printer stuck in a startup loop

1. Power on the printer

2. Remove the the ink cartridges from the printer

3. Unplug the power cable from the back of the printer (Do not power off the printer prior to unplugging the power cable).

4. Press and Hold the "6" and "#" on the number pad of the printer. While holding those two keys replug the power cable to the printer.

5. The printer should power on and give the message on the LCD "Install print cartridges". Install the cartridge and close the lid.

6. The printer should give the message on the LCD "Insert Black cartridge". Install the Black cartridge and close the lid.

7. The printer should give the message on the LCD "Used Black cartridge". Load a couple of plain paper in the paper tray and press the OK button. Keep pressing the OK button until the LCD says "Aligning print cartridges"

8. The printer will auto-align the cartridges and the printer should be in a ready state.

Orange cartridge keeps flashing after cartridge

Are you using a factory new HP ink cartridge?
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.
Also take a moment and make sure that all of the protective tape coverings have been removed from the cartridge.

your printer will not operate with the 'color' cartridge missing you will have to install a color cartridge.

try to install and reinstall the printer cartridge...and also clean the tab circuit of the cartridge and tab circuit of the printer carrier..

if the problem still exist..
rebreak the printer by full-out the power reset the settings and then turn it back...

Printer keeps stating align cartridge

I had the same problem and found that the wire inside the printer cartridge had a broken tab that secures it to the ink cartridge case. It needs a whole new cartridge assembly.

Have installed print cartridges in my new printer but screen keeps coming up stating one cartridge is missing. When I print the alignment page it is all black.

either you have not removed the seal on the cartridge, or you need to reseat the cartridge. another possibility is you have a defective cartridge. replace the cartridge. last but not least you have a defective machine that if in fact is new should be covered under a manufacturers warranty. contact them for service. good luck.

hmmm...what is the original? BX20? The BC 21 E is a generic for more than one printer. and you may find instructions on doing this at the site, under support.
