We agree with Tim. We have a 50 Vizio Plasma. Last Friday the picture shut off. Every electronic repair shop we called laughed when we said it was a vizio and they said good luck. Talked with Vizio, The quoted repair cost was $650+ and it only has a 90 day warrantyl. Paid $2488 + tax for it 2/5/06.

We opted for a new TV and bought the 5 year extended warranty.

Wouldn't buy a vizio if my life depended on it. Check out good name brands such as Sony, Panasonic, Hitachi, and Mitsubishi. no matter what you get its going to brake. I would recommend a 5year extended warranty with any new set you get these days. Also get LCD not plasma!
Let me know if you have more questions or if you have a certain model number you are looking at. With your price point in minde you most likley will need to look at a 42" in these brands. Dont think you will get anything bigger than that. Let me know!

Unless you find a good deal your going to pay somewhere around $2000 + warranty. for a set that I would put in my home.

check out this website as well. If I were going to buy a set I would probably buy it here. www.sonystyle.com They also have a outlet section for clearance and refurbished tv's I would most likely buy one from there and get the 5 year warranty with it to save some money. let me know?

Look dont spend time looking for a start capacitor for a dehumidifier and just invest in a new dehumidifier they are pretty cheap. It may sound harsh buy its true its a better investment seriously.

Hi, I have a 2Wire 270 DSl Modem I had bought through Qwest since they are my ISP. My home is a 1500 Sft Ranch, if the modem is in the bedroom and the Mac Book is in the family room down the hall the...

If the walls in your house are made of lathe and plaster or concrete block, then the performance of WiFi through all the walls in your house will be very bad. The signal that you are receiving from your neighbor's modem is probably only going through two walls (the outside wall of their house and the outside wall of your house), while the signal from your modem is probably going through at least 4 or 5 walls.
I suggest that you do not buy a new modem, but buy a wireless access point, a spool of CAT6 cable and two Leviton RJ45 wall jacks. Run the CAT6 cable from the modem to your bedroom, install the Leviton RJ45 jacks on both ends of the cable, and then connect the wireless access point to the the jack in the bedroom and the modem to the jack near to it.
This will expand the wireless coverage in your house and allow you to buy much better wireless device than QWest would ever sell to you.
Here is a suggestion for Wireless Access Point.
You can buy the CAT6 cable and Leviton RJ45 jacks at Home Depot or Lowes.

Had my tv looked at by a technician and they said it needed a new main power supply,it was to expensive to fix so i bought a power supply and instaled it but it dont work what can i do

Usually there is a warranty period like 30 days.Ask for a replacement if that dont work either there is another problem goin on.Then just ask for your money back, there is sometimes a restocking fee.

my recomendation would be save your money, and spend it on a new tv. by the time you pay for it you could of bought yourself a new tv...even though it wouldn't be a 50" you'll be much happier in the long run.........

I love your model, out of all the sets i work on i would say to keep it as long as you can. You have a simple convergence problem and its not to bad of a repair even at the DIY level. The new sets on the market these days brake about every 10months so to keep your 8 year old tv would be a smart choice. If you can solder and use a meter we can fix your set for under $100. If you call a repairman to fix it its going to run you $300-$500 depending on your area. But even at that its less than 1/4 the price of a quality new set. Remember when you buy a new set these days you dont only have to buy the tv you have to buy a stand to put it on or a wall mount (then if you mount it on the wall either you need to know how to do it or you will need to pay someone to do it) then i never would buy a new set without an extended warranty, then you have cableing to buy (most likely your going to hook it up hdmi) and so on. To put a brand new 52" tv in your house that i would reccomend after its all said and done your going to be looking anywhere from $2500-$3500. Hope this is the info you were looking for. any more questions, or if you want to try the repair yourself just ask!!

its gonna be cheaper for u to buy a new TV than buy a replacement panel if your looking to buy one I highly doubt you will be able to find one under $1500 and thats not including the shipping charge for a panel that weights 80 lbs. Best bet is too buy a new TV.
