Open Question

Blender black & Decker BL 1900 black powder found at the unit base of the blender

I have the above type blender, i usually use that for fruit juice.

since day one that i bought the blender i found the black powder at the base unit where the motor black plactic everytime i finish using it.

is that safe for the stuff, the smells like plastic and is that something wrong with my blender?

what should i do? because everytime i used it, the black powder always found with the water and because black colour liquid at the base unit.

I just afraid if there is a leakage and contamination to the juice that i make everytime.

SOURCE: Black & Decker BL1900

I had to call Black and Decker directly 800-231-9786 to order the part (called the "collar"). It was $14.95 w/ shipping and handling!! Seems pretty steep for a piece of plastic.

SOURCE: GE Blender Jar loose rotator

Remove the bottom clean the unit fully. Add the bottom blad assebly and this will fix your problem. The "sooty" is plastic shavings. Take note that the fitting were the "jar" connects to the motor that this is not wearing away. The unit i have broke and i am unable to find a replacement blade assembly.

You can order this part Black and Decker Blender Base Collar Ring BL5000-11
I also had the ring crack and ordered another one. It cracked after just a couple uses. So, even though you can get the replacement part, I'd suggest tossing the whole thing in the garbage and buying a different brand.

Available replacement parts can be found here:

or here:

I have not seen the drive gear made available. You could try making an inquiry with either of the above sites to see if they can locate a replacement. Alternatively contact a local small appliance repair shop; they may be able to scavenge the part from another blender.

Blinking lite in black and decker cyclone blender keeps blinking and blender wont work at all!

Throw the Black/Decker away. I am going to. This is my second blender form them that has done the nonresponsive red light blinking thing. I figured that the first one was a lemon; however, it must be that Black/Decker is only concerned about meeting walmarts demands on price. Black & Decker's saying should be - Who needs quality when you can pay less the first time.
