There is no way to know exactly what is causing the problem with the control that is not working without opening it and troubleshooting with the proper test equipment. It could be that the board is cracked in that area or that the control is just defective now. It is unlikely that any service center would try to fix it for you since they normally get exchanged or sent to sandisk for repair. Here is a link to contact them, it is your best bet in getting it fixed.

I hope this helps, if so please rate this post.

You can get it fixed if you send it back to the compony ,,,or a private repair service ,,,or if its under warrenty you can exchange it but best bet look in your local area for a repair man on home goods and small appliances thanks chris

My sansa clip is frozen on the blue flower

One issue that people experience with the Sansa Fuze player is that the screen turns white when they are trying to use it. If you experience this common Sansa Fuze MP3 player repair issue, you need to reset your player. Hold down the "Play" and "Power" buttons for about 20 seconds. The player should automatically reset.
MP3 Player Freezes

Another issue is that the player freezes. You may see lights on the player, but it won't do anything. Follow the below steps to correct this issue:

1. Use the above steps to perform a hard reset.

2. Turn the player back on, and slide the "Power" button upward.

3. Use the USB cord that came with your player, and connect it to your computer. Only connect your player directly to the computer. Don't connect it to a USB hub.

4. See if your computer recognizes that a device was connected to it. Or, look in "Devices and Printers" folder, and see if the device shows up in it.

If your device doesn't reset, and the computer doesn't recognize it, contact SanDisk for additional assistance. Or, you can attempt to repair the device yourself.
Repairing Internal Components

If your Sansa Fuze player is out of warranty, you can attempt to repair internal components. This is an "enter at your own risk" solution, but you may be able to fix the issue. If it doesn't work, or if you damage another component, you will most likely need to get a new player.

1. Shut off the device.

2. If you don't have one, purchase a case opener tool. This is a tool with an extremely small head that is used specifically for opening up small devices.

3. Place the head of the tool in the seam of the device, and rise up the faceplate. Do not do this forcibly, or you'll break the ribbon cable connected to it.

4. Remove the ribbon cable from the faceplate.

5. Examine the battery cable. If this connection is loose, your Fuze player won't turn on. Plug the connection firmly into the port.

6. Check the LCD screen connection. A loose connection here means that you can't see anything on your screen. Disconnect the cable from the port, and reconnect it.

7. Reattach the cable to the faceplate, and reattach the faceplate. Turn the device back on.

These Sansa Fuze MP3 player repair suggestions may not fix all issues. If your player is still not working properly, either take it back to the place where you bought it, or contact SanDisk for additional help.

Why wont this sync with my itunes library?

Hi, Is the SanDisk Sansa Fuze compatible with iTunes? In some ways, it is. Unfortunately, the Sansa Fuze and iTunes don't always play nice together. You'll have to get a few workarounds to make these two sync together.

The SanDisk Sansa Fuze and iTunes

The SanDisk Sansa Fuze is natively a Windows product. You should be able to sync it with Windows Media Player automatically. However, not everyone owns a Windows PC and even if they do, they might store more music in their iTunes library.

If this is the case for you, you might find it helpful to be able to sync your Sansa Fuze with your iTunes music library. Bear in mind that you won't be able to sync apps, games or any other iTunes products that are not formatted for use on a Sansa Fuze.
Using iTunes with the Sansa Fuze

So, is the SanDisk Sansa Fuze compatible with iTunes? If you download the right software, it is. Apple offers a free download that works with many other non-iPod MP3 players, Sansa Fuze included.

Unfortunately, this product only runs on a Mac operating system. However, if you own a Mac, this is great news because it means you can still use your Fuze without buying a Windows PC.

If you use a Windows PC and want to transfer your iTunes music to the Fuze, don't lose hope - there's a way to do that, too.
Syncing the Sansa Fuze with iTunes

If you're using a Mac, visit this link for Apple's free software download. It comes directly from Apple, so you can be assured that it's spyware-free.

Install the software on your Mac. You need Mac OS X 10.4 or higher as well as iTunes version 8 or higher.

Plug your Sansa Fuze into the Mac and wait for the software to open. You should see a listing of your iTunes music library pop open in a window. You're then given the option to sync as many songs as possible onto your Fuze.

The syncing process is similar to syncing an iPod. Don't unplug the device until it's finished.
Syncing the iTunes Library in Windows

You can sync your Sansa Fuze with iTunes using a script called the Automator, found here. Once downloaded, open the script under your "Downloads" folder on your "C:" drive and find a string of characters that looks like this: "/Users/richard/Music/*.mp3".

Replace the name "Richard" with your own username. Don't change anything else. Select "File," "Save" from the menu.

Select the Automator icon with the right click button on your mouse and choose "Open with," "Automator Runner." If working properly, this should automatically sync the music from iTunes with your Sansa Fuze.

If that doesn't work, go into your iTunes library and highlight any DRM-protected tracks that you purchased from iTunes. Right-click and select "Make MP3 Version." These should now be compatible with the Automator.

This sounds like more or less of a "hack" than a solution, but this might be the only way to sync music from iTunes to your Fuze using Windows. If all else fails, make MP3 versions of the songs as shown above, then navigate to your iTunes folder where those files are stored. Then drag and drop these into Windows Media Player, where they should sync right onto your Fuze.

Hope that helps..

When dowloading music, my sansa fuze (Refurb)

Save your music and format the sansa and reset
1: RESET: Go into the settings and scroll down to reset all, push center button, scroll to yes, push center this will restore factory settings.....
2: Reset All
NOTE: THIS IS AN ADVANCED OPERATION AND RESTORES ALL SETTINGS
TO THE FACTORY DEFAULTS. NORMAL USERS ARE NOT RECOMMENDED
TO PERFORM THIS OPERATION!
If your device freezes up press the Menu button and hold for 15 seconds.
This is like a power down of the device. Once you perform the reset, the adjustments you made during last operation
will be gone.
This is what it states in the manual for the 260 sansa Page 29
3: Recovery Mode also resets system settings when unplugged... lock your sansa hold in the rec key on the left at the same time push the menu/power button this will take you to recovery mode connect to comp when finished unplug

The whole center turner doesn`t work anymore ,i think i need to buy a whole new middle button

If the dial doesn't spin, then unfortunately your Fuze is physically damaged, and will need to be repaired.

If the dial stopped working on its on, versus not working due to physical damage inflicted by being dropped, abuse etc., and your player is less than one year old, it is covered under SanDisk's warranty service. Email support@sandisk.com to ask about this. They will probably want you to provide proof of purchase (showing date and place of purchase and name of the reseller).

The Sansa doesn't play music through the USB port. You can connect the Sansa to your stereo via the Sansa's headphone jack.

Just would like to know how to work the wheel

The round disc on the face of the Fuze has many functions and is a bit confusing at first. The disc spins like a record to scroll through menu items and doubles as a volume control. You can also press up, down, left, and right on the disc to navigate further. The button in the center of that disc acts as a Select button.

I'm sure that you've discovered the On/Off slide button on the right side, which can lock the face controls if you slide it to the detent toward the bottom of the unit. To unlock, simply press it upward past the detent.
