Question about Tricity Bendix AW1000W Front Load Washer
I am in a real bind! the Bendix washer/dryer I bought from someone is not working properly. It washes O.K. but will not rinse, empty or spin. Furthermore, I can't open the door to get the clothes out nor to remove the water, because the latch on the door is shut automatically. I have had clothes in the washer for the past 5 days and no one in the city of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada will come and look at it because they don't know that brand and won't work on it. As far as I can see, it is a UK brand.
Can someone pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee help me? Otherwise, I will have it disconnected and thrown with the trash. thanks. Carmen
I finally found an appliance repair man who solved my problem. He was the only one who would look at it, as out of the other dozen or so I had called, no one would come, as they said they didn't know the machine, so they wouldn't work on it. The one who came was European and knew what he was doing. He told me the machine was made in Italy, but I think personally it is a U.K. product, By what I gathered on the internet. Anyway, he opened the water lint filter very slowly and the water started pouring out, so we had towels all over the floor and an empty bucket of ice cream, emptied it into the sink and repeated the procedures till all the water was gone. We took the clothes out finally, and he made an examination of the machine. It turned out that the pump on it is finished and would cost about $200.00 Canadian to put a new one in. As what I have read on the internet, those machines are not worth the price and need servicing most of the time after the first year. I will phone the people who sold it to me, and hopefully, I will get a bit of my money back. The repairman cost me $115.50 to solve my problem. And there you are! At least, the clothes are out, and I will resort to another form of washing! Thanks for your concern. Carmen
