Question about Cuisinart DLC-8S Pro Custom Food Processor
I am wanting to buy a cuisinart food processor. I am thinking of buying the DLC-8M, is this a good one and is it an 11 cup? I am wanting an 11 cup,. I have also seen a DLC-8E, and 8F out there. Does anyone know when each of these were made. Do they last or should I get a newer version? Any thoughts would be helpful!
Those older Cuisinart food processors have motors that generally last forever. But a replacement bowl can cost $118.00 or more. The newer processors like the DLC-8S do have a 3-year general warranty and a 5-year motor warranty. The new DLC-2011, 2007, 2014 series etc. have 10-year motor warranties. I like the collect the oldies, but the new ones have few problems even though they are made in China. If an old processor's plastic breaks, you have to buy a completely new bowl set - if a new processor's plastic breaks, then you can buy a single component piece to solve the problem. Hope this helps.
