Question about GE Eterna EGR2000EMWW Gas Kitchen Range
Brought down from my parents' farm in Iowa. The unit is about 5 years old. After set-up here in Texas, there is barely any gas coming to the stove. GE repair man says it's the regulator (450.00 repair). Yikes! there was nothing wrong with it when I left Iowa. My parents used LP gas, as they are rural. thought this might be the problem - we have natural gas in Dallas. But repair guy says the LP kit was never installed. So how were they using it? And what do I do now - I don't believe it's the regulator. And the range we used before this one was working pretty well, so I don't think it's the gas pressure.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

no gas flow sounds like a bad gas regulato on the stove. as for the 5 year old ge profile with ignitors not working, you need a part called a spark modual

If your top burners are not lighting or will not work, it is possible that the burners have become dirty or wet. Please follow the troubleshooting directions below before calling service:
If you hear clicking or sparking, go to Step 2.
If you do not, check your circuit breakers. If the circuit breaker is ok, we recommend that you schedule service by calling 1-800-432-2737 or schedule service online.
First remove the burner grate, cap, and head. Use a needle or paper clip to poke through the holes on the burner head. Re-assemble and try the burner.
Remove the burner grate, cap, and head. Even if it looks clean, wipe the tip of the electrode with a clean, dry paper towel and PRESS IT DOWN. Re-assemble and try the burner, again.
Check to see if the burner works, If not, then go to Step 3.
Check to see if the burner works, If not, then go to Step 4.

"GE makes garbage" that's what a lot of independent servicers says about brands they can't become authorized to work on because GE for instance has factory service. What makes the repairman think the regulator is bad? It is highly unlikely to be the case.

GE ships gas ranges set for natural gas, with the LP orifices included, usually on a metal tab held with one screw right near the regulator (where the gas connects to the range). If the range was converted to LP, the person who did the conversion was suppose to put the natural gas orifices back in that holder. If they are missing, comment back on the exact model number and I can look up the part number(s) for you.

The kit is located at the rear of the range right near the gas valve, there are probably 5 spuds and an extender for the large burner, directions are with the range. For the bake and broil you will need to tighten the brass orifice nuts down as tight as possible, also the brass nut on the gas valve needs to be reversed
your local LP dealer should be able to do this for you if you are uncomfortable doing it yourself.
