IPC TopNote F 219 HDD compatibility

I have an IPC TopNote F219 and need to know which hdd is compatible.I was given the laptop without original hdd but a friend had connected a Hitachi Travelstar but apparently that was not showing up in the Bios.I need some info on this laptop because I tried googling and there is very little.

Yes. as long as the interface of HDD matched with mainboard of laptop interface. compaq nx7010 use SATA interface so you should use SSD drive with SATA interface . :)

You cannot use the drive without external power, specially with the 4-pin firewire: there are some USB models that allow it (usually 2,5" drives), but you need 2 USB outlet oth the PC (one for the data and power, the second for power supply). About the compatibility you shouldn't have problems.

How big of ata hdd is compatible with this, old hdd wore out

Hi,

As far as i know the maximum capacity drive is a 160GB drive.

The most common drives shipped with that model is usually 40GB.

If you update the BIOS it could take a larger drive.

Hard drive replacement

Hi there, I have an HP nx6110 and it had a WD 60GB 4200 rpm IDE, I bought a Seagate 80GB IDE Hdd and it worked fine. The only think you should be careful is to check if you need a SATA Hdd or IDE Hdd, but I think it's a SATA.
