The display on the machine is just white when the washer is on. It goes dark when the switch is turned off and when the cord is unplugged. (tried cold start) The machine operates normally. It can scroll through the various cycles and it washes normally. There is just no way to see the mode that it is in or any messages.

It simply means the LCD assembly is the only one at fault either due to a connection problem or the display itself. Since the connector and the LCD are integral part of the display module, they cannot be purchased separately and the only viable solution is replacing module completely. Indicate the exact model number of the machine for replacement parts assistance and should you need further help.

I have a Miele w3725 washer that cuts out after 30 seconds to a minute. If I unplug it for a bit and turn it back on it will start but the same thing happens again. Any suggestions?

Hi Ben, The link below could hold the answer... Please read and then click the link for more...... I hope this helps...CHEERS..
To perform the Master Reset, carefully unplug the washing machine from the power outlet and leave it unplugged for one minute. After one minute is up, plug the washer cord back into the wall. Next, open and close the door of the washing machine 6 times within 12 seconds to send a "reset" signal to all the components.(This is a common fix that many appliance repair mechanics use - it works on about 50% of all washing machines.) Once the reset has been completed set the washer to do a small load with no clothes in the washer. See if the washer goes through with the cycle as normal. If the washer performs correctly, then it has been reset and is fixed. If not refer to more troubleshooting techniques and causes of problems below.
If that did not solve the problem then it may be the "Lid Switch". Top loading washing machines that have a faulty lid switch will not turn the agitator and the spin cycle will not start. However on some washing machine models it will still agitate but not spin. To properly check this you must remove the lid switch.

Front load GE Profile washing Machine is locked and non- responsive

Try turning the power off at the wall switch so your display goes blank. These locks are safety devices set on a timer which had been affected by your power cut. After about two minutes you should hear a click and the door lock should be released. Hope this helps

Ghw9100lw keeps throwing code f/h help

Unplug power cord. First try to clean drain tube by removing bottom cover: uncrew two bolts on each side. clean tube and filter and pump. If it is fixed, you are done.
If problem comes back, unplug power cord as always. Remove top cover and replace water inlet valve (remember to shut off water valves both hot and cold), unplug connectors to blue switch and remove water flowmeter, blow air thru one end and then the other end to remove dirt inside white water flowmeter. If flowmeter bad, replace it.
Last thing may get bad is pressure switch which is brow color valve on the right side of machine.
Good luck

My power cord on my WM2016CW washer melted to the back of my dryer and shorted out the dryer!

hi,

if your handy , you can fix that. first see if you can get the dryer going again. unplug everything and use a pair of wire cutters to remove the damaged cord off the dryer , make sure all that damaged wiring is unplugged and away from the dryer and plug your dryer back in and reset the circuit breaker and try the dryer. hopefully its okay. then unplug everything again, pull the washer out and look where the damaged cord goes into the machine, the back of the washer may have to come off. remove the strain relief fitting by turning a quartewr turn clockwise, remove the ground wire and remove the wires off their posts carefully. look carefully at the cord for a ridged end of the cord or writing on the cord this is your neutral side of the wire, make sure when you replace with the new cord the wiring is exactly the way it was on the old cord. reorder the cord from the sears parts store and hopefully that gets you going. if things are worse than this or you have any doubt, call the repairman..jm

How to replace electrical cord on washer. through divorce he cut cord off about 1 inch from back. got new one but not sure to remove back plate to get to wiring. how to replace cord on dryer. he cut...

On the dryer. You correct. If you have a three wire cord, the one in the center of the cord goes in the center of the electrical block. It does not matter about the two on the outside. Just put one on one side and the other on the other. The washer will also have three wires. One black, one white and one green. First, the green goes to the case or ground. The black goes on the gold screw and the white goes on the silver screw. The black and white can go on either but most people connect them as I stated. Sorry about your divorce and good luck on wiring your machines. Have a great day.
