The download problem for you is not with the add ons.......i think so....i think if you intalled any antivirus its firewall may not allow adobe to download.....so try by switching off the firewall.....and try downloading it once again.....you will get it....try this....it will work 100%....
check whether the internet connection is perfect at the time of downloading.....i am a software engineer....and i have experience in it.....thats why i am suggesting this idea.....and also check whether adobe is intalled perfectly.....otherwise uninstall and then reinstall....it will work....

Can not download yahoo toolbar "Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer's Add-on Management feature lets you view, enable and disable the list of add-ons which can be loaded by Internet Explorer. Add-ons include browser helper objects, ActiveX controls, toolbar extensions and browser extensions.
To view or modify the add-ons on your computer by launching Manage Add-ons:
1. In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, click Manage Add-ons, and then click Enable or Disable Add-ons. 2. To disable an add-on, select it in the list in the Manage Add-ons dialog box and select the Disable radio button. 3. To enable an add-on, select it in the list in the Manage Add-ons dialog box and select the Enable radio button. 4. Click OK to confirm. Note: Disabling an add-on does not remove it from your computer. It simply prevents Internet Explorer from executing the add-on's code-it does not prevent other software from executing the add-on. If an add-on is disabled, website pages that rely on that add-on may not work as expected. For more information on Add-ons, click the "Learn more about add-ons" help link in the Manage Add-ons dialog box.

If you are using Internet explorer Try disabling the Add-ons

-Close the Internet Explorer
-Go to Control Panel
-Open Internet Options
-Click on the Programs Tab
-Click on Manage Add-ons
-Disable all the Add-ons

If this resolves your issue Try to enable each Add-on and figure out which Add-on was causing the problem and keep it disabled.

To enable Java in my browser, I followed your instructions, only problem I had was that there was no ASP in the menue. Am I missing something here? Also, how do I make sympatico.ca my home page? That to...

To enable Java, assuming that it is installed: Open IE, click Tools, Internet Options and then Programs tab and Manage Add-ons. Find the Java add-on and ensure that it is enabled. Once enabled, you will have to restart your browser. To make a site your homepage, navigate to it and then click Tools, Internet Options and on the first page there is a Home Page box and under it click the button that says Use Current Page. Then OK out to the browser.
