I ordered it through www.247vacuums.com They shipped immediately.
It is called Lower Hose and it was $13.99 plus shipping. I just went to the website and this is the direct link. Hope it works.

Also, replacing it didn't turn out to be that difficult. You just have to get all the screws out and there are lots of them. I think I took out 16 and then was able to open the upper compartment enough that I could change the hose without too much of a problem. Good luck.

take the hose along to a hose making shop ( any hydraulic hose manufacturer) and have a hose made to your length
or get your old hose , cut off the ends and use the fittings in a quality hose from your hardware shop
use hose clamps to fix the hoses back on the ends

Take hose off to clean

Pull out handle as usual.
Release hose from wand and handle by pressing the pair of release clips on the handle just above where the hose enters. I have to press these clips quite hard and pull quite a bit to get the hose to come free. All the above is as you would normally use the hose.
Lay hose down to rear of machine. Just between the bottom of the hose and the machine body is a small plastic tab: pull this a little away from the machine body.
Slide bottom end of hose upwards and out of the machine.

The hose can be dismantled from the plastic fittings at each end but has not been designed for the user to do so: the hose and fittings are bought as an assembly (not expensive at about GBP15).

Part of the hose is torn. Do I have to replace the whole hose or can it be repaired ?

Which hose is torn? The hose underneath or the hose with the extension wand in the handle?

Where I work we can sometimes repair the wand hose, and the little hose undernath is usually a cheap costing replacement.

How do I change the setting on the capture bagless vacuum from hose to floor?

-Pull out your hose from the hose port, and it should be ready to go. If it is not sucking, then perhaps you have an obstruction in you hose. On the back of the cleaner where the hose attaches, you can squeeze the two tabs and the hose will release and you can check it for clogs. One easy way to tell, run the machine with the hose plugged in the hose port. Listen to the sound then take out the hose and listen. If there is a sound of release of air that is significant, then you have a clog in your lower duct hose(the hose that comes out of the lower half of the vacuum. You can usually remove this type of blockage from the underneath where the roller brush is, fairly easily. If it is in your hose, then you can try shaking it out. Sometimes you can see the clog and remove it easily. I am not sure if this was your problem I think maybe it is because there is not anything special to use the hose attachment.

Dirt shoots out the vacuum when I unhook the hose to clean furniture

Sounds like you have a small clog in the hose in the head cleaner. Unplug the machne, turn it upside down on the floor with the brushed facing up. Look at the hose that comes from the underneath to where it connects to the expandable hose. Most of the time the clog is in that area. The debris stays in the hose ans it just does not have enough power to go all the way to the bag area from lack of suction. When you disconnect the hose the particles fall back down and the spinning brush kicks it all over the place. If it has a screw holding the hose in place unscrew it and push something solid through the hose. No not use anything sharp or use eccessive force as you can tear the hose. Try losening it then hook up the hose and turn it on to see if the suction from the hose clears it out.

Hope this helps.

I want to reconnect a hose to my dysons upright

You can find replacement hoses on eBay for the price of $20 to $30. Search for "DC07 hose". That, obviously is the easiest route. But, you can repair the old hose if the damage is near one end or the other of the hose. Damage in the middle of the hose will not leave enough length for effective use and thus buying a new hose makes since.

If you decide to repair the hose, you will need to use wire cutters to snip the wire in the hose below a point where the damage is and then use scissors or an exacto knife to trim away excess plasitic hose above the snip.

Remove the damaged hose section from the fitting that was cut off. You may need to use pliars to pull on the wire until it comes out. Check the inside of the fitting and remove any remaining debris so you have all of the grooves as clean as possible. The inside of the fitting is threaded like a nut and "screws" onto the hose. You will need some form of adhesive to help keep the hose attached to the fitting. I use silicone caulk for that purpose. Squeeze some into the threads on the fitting, screw the hose on and allow to dry over night.

Hope this helps.

Hose connection broken.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
If you have a broken hose connection, and not knowing the brand name of the vacuum, I can suggest 2 things. If you have an electric hose, meaning that it is attached to a electric power head or power nozzle, some can be repaired depending on what was wrong, but most of the time you have to replace the hose, some pigtails can be replaced but if the electric connection is broken, you need to replace the hose. If it is a non-electric hose, you can use a shrink tube, or cut out the broken part and use a hose cuff to join them together, so just shorten the hose and screw back on the original ends. In either case you need to check with a local vac dealer. Or you can make a new hose with new ends and leave the canister @ the bottom of the stairs and go up with just the long hose, unless you have an upright then you have to make it the length that is on the upright. Or replace it with the genuine hose from the factory or use the ends from the old hose on the replacement hose. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Cleaning brushes don't rotate during cleaning!

Cleaning brushes don't rotate during cleaning!
It might be a clogged vacuum hose. Does anyone know its whereabouts?

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
The best way to tell if the vacuum hose is clogged is to take a round ball, marble or steel ball or a nut & bolt assm that is about the same size as the vacuum hose opening & drop it or run it thru the vacuum hose and if it comes out the other end the hose is not clogged. If you have a braided hose (cloth on the outside and black rubber in the inside) the inside black rubber or inside of the hose brakes down and starts to leak and the air moving thru the hose will escape thru the hose and reduce suction. Also make sure the suction release valve is closed as well. There are some vacuums that use a braided hose and the only fix to that problem is to replace the hose. Feel free to check with you local vacuum dealer in the yellow pages or call the factory listed below:
If it is a braided hose from Electrolux the phone number is:
