I have a squirelmail account on a shared hosting server. Is there any way to import emails from my squirrelmail account onto my computer hard drive and keep all the folders that I set up in squirrelmail intact?

This would be possible if your service provider offers your mail to be accessed using IMAP. You could then use a regular mail program such as Outlook or Thunderbird to configure the IMAP access. All you emails would come through to the email client as well as the folder structure.

This is not possible if your service provider only give your access to your email account using POP3.

You should contact your shared hosting server service provider and inquire about IMAP. They should also give you the required information (username, password, SSL, ports) required to configure it in the email program of your choice. They may even be able to walk you through the configuration.

IMAP will syncronize any changes you make either on your local computer or on the web based email so that they always match.

Hope this helps.

You can do this with Outlook you need to setup your squirrelmail account on Outlook first then setup a .pst file on outlook, this will save all your forders, emails on the hard drive.

Hello, my business gmail account no longer sends and receives emails and I don't know why. Could you please help?

I would first need to know what the error(s) are. Are you getting kick messages? Are you getting a failure in the email client? Are you using a client or the native web-based Gmail? More details are needed.

Transfer Email to a Different Server

Each of the free-email providers has its own server on which to store the emails in its system. Gmail from Google, Hotmail from Microsoft, Yahoo! mail from Yahoo! and the rest all run their own servers, and one account from one server cannot go into another from a different server.

So if you've switched from Yahoo! to Gmail and want to get all the emails stored in the Yahoo! server over to the Google server, you have to transfer that email data.

Luckily, since the services are free, transferring the email is also free.
Log into your email account in the server that you are looking to transfer to.

So if you are transferring from Yahoo! to Gmail, log into your Gmail account.
Click on the "Settings" or "Option" button for your email address and then click the "Accounts" or "Accounts and Imports" button to look at the accounts.

Click on the "Import from another account" or "Add account" buttons and then type in the log-in information for the account that you want to transfer the emails from.
In the example given, you are transferring from Yahoo! to Gmail so you will need to type in your Yahoo! log-in information.

Wait for the server to transfer all of the contacts and email from the old server (Yahoo!) to the new server (Gmail).

Get My Yahoo Mail Moved to My Gmail Account

Nearly everyone has multiple email accounts for different purposes, and occasionally you may need to transmit information from one account to another.

Gmail makes it easy to import data from other Internet email providers via the TrueSwitch email migration service.

You can use TrueSwitch to migrate all of your Yahoo email data without even leaving the Gmail program window.

Navigate to the Gmail website and log in to your Gmail account.
Click the "Tools" icon in the upper right corner of the program window and click "Mail settings" in the drop-down menu.

Click the "Accounts and Import" tab in the settings window.
Click the "Import mail and contacts" button to start the mail import wizard.

Type your Yahoo email account address in the text field and click the "Continue" button.
Type your Yahoo email account password in the text field and click the "Continue" button.

Check the box next to each type of data that you want to import from your Yahoo email account. You can choose to import contacts, mail, and new mail that you receive within 30 days.
You can also specify a label that you want attached to all imported mail. Click the "Start Import" button.

The TrueSwitch service will begin importing the desired data.
It may take between several hours and two days for all of your data to be imported from your Yahoo account.

I configured my squirrelmail to be in sync with my iphone, i can receive my emails but when I sent emails using my iphone, it is sent successfully but the email is not foud in my squirrelmail sent box when...

Go into your settings on the iPhone and go to 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars'. Click on your email account, and click into the account name again on the next screen. Scroll to the bottom and click on 'Advanced'. Under 'Mailbox Behaviors' click 'Sent Mailbox' and scroll down to the section where it says 'On the Server' and click on your 'Sent' folder (or which ever folder you want to save the email in) and you should be all set! It should save a copy to server and also keep a copy on your iPhone as well.

The host 'PoP3"means what

Make sure your password and server name are correct on the email account, and make sure the server you are useing for outgoing mail is a pop3 server. Your provider for internet services may not be a pop3 server on your outgoing mail, it may be a smtp server or something like that for outgoing mail. Check in your email account properties to see what your outgoing mail server says, incoming and outgoing can be different depending on your supplier.

How do I set up a mail account so I can email photos from my iphone? I use hotmail. Iphone won't bluetooth.

Ok, go to settings, then mail, contacts calender. Go to add account, select other
for hotmail then add account. Fill in all relevent details as normal, hit save.
It will verify account info then will appear above "add account" click on it and
the settings should be filled in. If not fill in name address = email address, description = email address, host name = pop3.live.com, username = email address, password.

Then click on smtp server (bottom of current page)
for outgoing mail and check primary server is smtp.live.com

If smtp needs configuring go into smtp add primaru server as smtp.live.com as host name, user name is yor email address, password, ssl to ON, port 587.

Hope this all helps and please vote if it does.

Thanks

Jim
