It only switches on with the main adapter and each time i turn it on i have to update clock and all info. Help!!

Hey,
it sounds like the battery is dead or disconnected.
replacing the battery would most likely fix the problem, I would inspect the old one and its connectors.
heres the cheapest battery I found, look around ebay
