This could be a printer driver problem. Try to uninstall your existing Lexmark X4270 printer driver from your computer. On your computer, go to Start menu > Programs > Lexmark 4200 Series > Tools > Uninstall. After the process, reboot pc when prompted.
Check if your Windows 7 is running on 32-bit or 64-bit operating system. Go to Start menu > right-click on Computer > Properties. Take note of the System Type.

I have installed the lexmark 4200 program and am trying to get to the fax set up page. I have went ot start, programs but dont see lexmark 4200 series

Computer has to do nothing with fax setup.

Inbound and outbound fax happen through the lexmark device without the help of computer. Computer use the device for the printing purpose only.

All fax related configuration has to be done on the lexmark through the help of its display screen and buttons

Unable to get my Lexmark 4200 off the default setting of color, want to print in Black/White and select color if I want to print in color .

Good day! Here's an article in the Lexmark website that will show you how to use the Print Properties Dialog on the Lexmark 4200 series. It has some graphics to better understand the instructions. Just click on this link: http://bit.ly/bvMxnp . You should be able to come across Print Color images in Black and White option. Hope this helps. Good luck!

How do I set up a group for speed dial?

Lexmark X4270: Sending to a group - You would think that this option would be available on the machine's control panel, and it is (in a limited way) for one-time faxes to a maximum of 5 recipients.

If you would like to setup group speed dial, this can be done from the Lexmark software. You are limited to 5 members per group, but allowed twenty groups.

How to Setup group speed dial on Lexmark X4270: (Assuming Windows of some flavor)

1) Start > All Programs > Lexmark 4200 Series > Fax Setup Utility
2) Click the "Group Speed Dial" Tab
3) Select a group number
4) Provide a group name
5) Fill in the recipient fax number fields (max five)
6) Click the <Save Settings> button

You may continue to "create groups" in some logical format that is convenient for you - up to 20 such groups, each with a maximum of 5 recipients.

I hope this helps!

Hi,

Not sure what you mean about being "compatable with".

If you need the setup guide, here is a link:

Lexmark 4200 Series Setup

There is also an online user guide available at:

Lexmark 4200 Series User Guide

The setup guide is a PDF file, but the User Guide is an HTML (web) link.

Hope this helps. If you need more advice, just comment back.

Thanks for using Fixya.

X4270 lexmark printer hook up

I have a lexmark X4270, I'm having a problem with the fax machine, the display keeps displaying "clear paper Jam", however there is no paper jam. I'm also not being able to recieve or send any faxes. I'm low on ink, would this prevent sending faxes? Any suggestions?
