TV repair person told me my Toshiba 50HP16 Main Power Supply Circuit Board is bad as well as a secondart board. How do I identify these boards and get part numbers? Its too expensive to have the repair person to fix.

I was told surge in power caused the board to short. The tv does not work, absolutely no power going to the tv. Nothing happens if you press the power button.

The part number listed on the part number listed on the damaged board states 3501Q00200A. I'm not sure what the Toshiba part number is. I want to try to replace one board at a time to see if the tv is salvagable without spending too much money.

Do you know if I have to do an alignment for voltage or anything else after replacing the power supply board?

Even if you buy the parts you may get sticker shock!!! Why did it need a power supply and another board. Will your set come on? I may be able to give you part numbers but you need to be specific about which other board you think you need such as X Y signal board or power supply Some single circuit boards for some sets are as high as 600 bucks hope not for you

37RV530U Toshiba LCD TV. no back light but I see letter on the screen with flash light. I believe it is back light inverter. but I couldn't locate it

Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.
http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

Why won't Toshiba TV power on?

Fault with the main power supply regulator board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time.

Toshiba 42wh38b Projection TV won't come out of standby

That problem is usually have 2 causes..Its either power supply board or main board..

Please take this steps on how to determine the problem:
1. Open the back cover.
2. Check the power supply output...It should have 5vdc for the main board..12vdc or 16vdc for the audio and 24vdc for the back-light inverter..
3. If those 3 voltage supplies have encountered voltage drop...The problem could be on power supply board..
4. If the power supply output is normal..The problem could be on the main board...
5. If the problem is power supply you should check if the capacitors are bulged on the top and try to replaced it..If you can't do that you can purchased new power supply board..
6. If the problem is on main board there is no D.I.Y repair on that so you need to buy a new main board that fits to your TV..
Hope this solution will be helpful..

Thanks for using fixya...

Toshiba 57H81 Flashing Red Power Light, Blown Fused F850+F852

Solved by resoldering some solder joints!!!!!!!
********
Toshiba Model 57H81 Rear Projection TV - Purchased 11-09-2001

Problem: Toshiba 57H81 Flashing Red Power Light, No Picture/Sound, Blown Fuses F850 + F852

Symptoms January, 2009:

  • Upon turning on set I got flashing red power light and nothing else.
  • Removing plug for one minute and plugging in results in:
    • Audible click, steady red power light for 2 seconds then slow flashing red light
    • Pushing power button results in steady red for about 2 seconds then slow flashing red light, no other set activity
  • Removing power cord for several hours and plugging back in made no change
    • Audible click, steady red for about 2 seconds then slow flashing red light
  • Possible related note: Over past several months occasionally the entire screen would flicker momentarily and at other times be problem free for weeks.
  • Fuses F850 and F852 found blown

Repairs Made:
  • PD0074 DEF/CON Power Board
    • There are two main power supply capacitors in this set. They are C-809 and C-810. One their negative lead on the printed circuit board re-soldered leads and nearby contacts. I’m told that because the factory left out a printed circuit board eyelet, the connection will come loose over time. When I called Toshiba customer service they said there was a known solder joint problem causing blinking red light.
    • Replaced blown fuses F850 and F852.
      • I actually installed a fuse panel on the inside of the cabinet and routed the fuse connections here instead of ordering the special fuses and replacing them on the circuit board.
      • Had to use a 5 Amp SLO-BLOW for F850. Fast blow does not survive power up. Get the red blinking light.
      • Used a fast blow 2 Amp for F852.
  • PD0073 SIGNAL Board
    • Re-soldered Q751 + Q752 STK392-110 Convergence Amps
    • Re-soldered adjacent pads that looks suspicious

Total Cost to Repair about $10
  • Twelve hours of my time over three days to research issue, disassemble set, make repairs, add fuse panel.
  • Already owned Service Manual and Circuit diagrams from a different 2004 repair.
  • Less than ten dollars at Radio Shack for fuses and fuse panel. Already had wires, etc.
  • Some solder. Already owned de-soldering tools, etc.
  • Visited both local authorized Toshiba factory service repair facilities. One said repair would have to include replacing Q751 + Q752 STK392-110 Convergence Amps with ST392-180, and realigning set for a total of $500+ and it would be more if they had to order a power board. NO THANK YOU! Other shop said $65 for site visit and $30 to make an estimate that could be applied to repair.

Toshiba 50H50: No picture or sound, red light blinks

On alot of these Toshiba TV sets, there is a fuse called F860 that will blow and the light will flash because of bad solder connections on C 810, and C 809, on the negitave terminal. I have seen many of these boards condemed by non-authorized Toshiba repair shops. Good Luck

My television won't work.

The foil trace may have gotten broken on the printed circuit board behind the tct switch.. Try using the remote to turn on the TV set. If the set tryes to click on but does not, most likly the switch has nothing to do with this problem. If the relay cicks and nothing happens, most likly you have a fault in the main power supply and or the sweep supplys. These sets are very common to have bad capacitors and or the start up circuit to go bad. If your not experienced with electronic repairs, play it safe and call in a pro to assist you in this repair. Good Luck. Please do not forget to rate this thread.
