No, the image looks fine before shooting. It is only when we view it that the lines and heavy tinge appear making it impossible to make sense. What more info. do you need.

Thanks for the comments. I havnt tried other camera but will do so. On the computer when I downloaded the images they were the same -unclear. When the shutter is half pressed the image doesnt change. However, I have noticed that sometimes there is a tinge.

I have the same problem as stated. The image looks fine when and during the shot, but horizontal white lines appear upon viewing the image. I've tried re-setting camera defaults to no avail.

I believe this may be an example of a recognised fault in the CCD sensor in some Canon cameras. To their credit, Canon will repair this for free, regardless of warranty status, (with free shipping in the US only).

See
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=PgComSmModDisplayAct&fcategoryid=225&modelid=13390&keycode=2112&id=29819

for details on what to do, and the camera models to which it applies. This applies worldwide (except the free shipping), for non US countries simply look up your local service centre contact details and explain the problem.

Good luck

It sounds like your CCD imager is broke, but it sounds like your saying that the images look fine as your taking them, but only show up bad after stored.... If that's the case, then I will need more info, but if they DON'T look clear on the screen BEFORE you press the shutter, it's the CCD, which is usually an expensive repair.

When you "half" press the shutter (to pre-focus) does the image change at all? Also have you tried playing the images back in another camera or on a computer? Also, try playing back photo's taken on a different camera, using your camera as the card reader. Do their photos play back ok on your unit?

Image to large error message?

Try selecting a smaller resolution. This may help you to shoot images but clearly there is a problem at the higher images size. Try also cleaning the contact on the memory card.

The picture is not clear

You may try to reload the cameras firmware, go to kodak website and search M575 support and downloads, there you will find what you need.

My screen is black and will not display images to shoot. Also when picture is taken it plays back as black image. Previously taken pictures will display.

Michele, a stuck shutter is a common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, sometimes with lines, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open). To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.

Line showing in low light

When you say in low light, I take it you mean when on a high ISO setting. The S3Pro does have some limitations in this regard. One reviewer stated:

"As expected, our test images are clean and relatively noise free from ISO 100 through ISO 800. At ISO 1600, noise has a significant impact on images. To keep it in check, Fujifilm applies relatively heavy detail-smearing noise reduction to JPEGs. You can bypass this by shooting raw, but then your images will be fairly noisy. All in all, we'd rate the S3 Pro's high-ISO image quality to be middle-of-the-pack among current dSLRs."

I guess that probably answers your question!

Feel free to get back to me.

Strange lines at bottom of images and "unidentified image" error messages

This sounds like a possible write problem with your flash card. Do you have another memory card (preferably different make) that you could try with the camera?
