Smells moldy and musty. Water under seal. Clothes have black streaks from time to time.

There is a product called washing machine cleaner (not laundry soap) that needs to be run through monthly, and your issue of smell will stop, and likely the streaks also.
This type of issue is new with front load machines.

How do I get the mold out??

Without a proper model number I would say you need to clean your washer with a product called Affresh or Washerfresh. If you don't wipe the door dry and the boot dry, also dry inside the boot between the tub and front of machine. Also, when you finish washing, open the soap dispenser or better yet, take the soap dispenser drawer right out between washings to to let everything air dry and leave the door open. If the smell still persists you will have to change the door boot. Best off to call a reliable repair company such as Sears.

The gray rubber seal on the door and opening of my fron loading washing machine has turned black with, what I suppose to be, mildew. I have scrubbed and wiped to no avail. What do you suggest?

at this point, all you can do is replace the door boot seal. but you can prevent it from happening agin by leaving the door open a little when it is not in use to allow air in the tub. if you dont, youll have another moldy boot

Frigidaire gltf1670a front door seal instalation

Open the door and remove either the outer bellows spring (newer models) or use a putty knife to scrape the glue around the bellows to release it from the cabinet lip. At this point lean the machine back to give more space between the drum and the cabinet.
Remove the kickplate for easier access and to visually check for leaks later.
Starting at the top, pull on the bellows firmly (close to the tub) until it comes out of the groove. Once it comes off you will see the bellows spring.
Install the new bellows starting at the top by aligning the marks (arrow on the bellows top and arrow on the tub lip). Work your way around until bellows is properly seated snug against the tub.
Here it gets tricky, it might be easier with an extra pair of hands but there's less room. Some bellows kits contain spacers/plugs which will help to "hold" the spring as you stretch it back in place. Work from the top down on both sides at once. Either use the spacers/plugs or have someone hold the spring in place as you work your way around.
Once in place, lay the machine back to level and reinstall the front of the bellows to the cabinet. Either re-install the outer bellows spring or re-glue the bellows to the cabinet. If this is not done you risk a water leak.
With towels handy (just in case), let the machine fill and agitate for a few minutes and check for water leakage. If all is well, make sure machine is still level by try to rock it diagonally from the top (if it rocks, lower the leg that is lifting). Re-install the kickplate and wash some laundry!

Have you tried using detergent HE (High Efficientcy) for front loaders? I had this problem and changed over to HE Detergent (Tide) and it solved my problem. Good Luck
