Chances are you have a short behind the dash. The clicking might be wires arching off metal or other wires. may have been pulled from a harness or maybe a mouse chewed on it. Unfortunatly, open the dash and look.

Hmm sounds like the classic mouse has had a chew of the cables ,also some of these older cars wiring looms have dodgy plastic insulation which goes all sort of soft and dissolves on its own ,their is a short somewhere but where ?? is the big dollar question ,where to look ? start at the rear of the vehicle in the boot and check the wiring loom although if dash and interior lights then i would suspect behind the dash ,might be cheaper to buy a new car iam sorry to say

You are probably going to find four wires together that do not have a plug on them. There should also be a tag taped on the wires showing that it is for the trailer. You will have to put a plug or some kind of connection on those wires.

Check the wire harnesses on top of the transmission for any signs of open plastic casing. You may of had a mouse or some other critter chew their way through some wire insulation which is causing a short to ground,,,, or a short to power. If any are found, spice wires back together ( same colour wires ) and try speedo again.

If the harness was in a straight line ( no wires going a different direction ) you should be able to re-connect them by the colours of the wiring. Buy yourself some new wire and black tape.

Well you need to check the harness to see if it is getting power. You may need to take the plentum off and then unplug the harness and then reinstall the plentum but make sure that you leave the harness out so you have access to it.

Then you can make a test light or purchase one. Plug the test light into the harness and start the car. This light should flicker, if not you didn't repair the wire properly. Doesn't sound like a fuse being that none of the injectors would work if a fuse blew.

It could also be that the PCM grounded out when the mouse chewed the wire and needs to be replaced.

Don't worry about checking the ASD Relay because that would cut off all power to the injectors and coils.
