Hai , i have a Problem to open my scandisk 8GB pendrive , like this free space 0 ,& used space 0, how to cure this problem can u help me?

It would appear that the disk is not formatted. this usually happens when the filesystem is RAW (typical when drives are brand new).

If this drive is NOT brand new, then it may have been ejected without having it "safely removed" by Windows first.

Either way, the drive will have to be formatted to be functional again. The way it looks, if there was any data there before, it's all gone now. ust right-click on the drive in My Computer and choose FORMAT. It doesn't really matter if it's quick or not, it's all up to you.

My sandisk memory card of 4gb shows 0 bytes how do i format

Sometimes when a flashmemory stick or USB external hard drive fails because it was not removed fromthe USB port properly. If the device is removed byjust pulling it out of the USB port, it can cause the flash device to fail, youmust click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon on the Task Bar and select thedevice you wish to remove and only do so when instructed to do so When the flash memoryUSB hard drive device appears to malfunction it maybe possible to restoreit by reformatting it. Insert the flash or USB hard drive into the USB port then Click on Control Panel - AdministrativeTools - Computer Management - Disk Management. Then right click on Disk 1removable drive and click Format. After the flash drive has been formatted itwill indicate that it is Healthy.

I lost all datas from my memory stick

Files on a flash drive can be corrupted if it is not removed from the USB port properly.
Before removing the flash drive click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon and then click on the flash drive you want to remove and then remove the flash drive when the computer message says it is Safe to remove.
To restore the flash drive you may need to format the flash drive, but you will lose the data stored on the flash drive.

Here is the answer from PNY.

Be warned, this is a low level format tool from them. What ever is on your flash drive will be erased.

I went exploring on these drives and found that when they start acting like they are write protected, it means that the drive corrupted. The low level format tool, will completely reformat that drive, and hopefully correct the problem.

They say it happens (usually) if you removed the drive from a computer, without using the safe eject USB function.

If this is a new flash drive, take it back to where you got it, and ask for a replacement.

Usb flash drive

It is simple to use, simply plug it into a working USB port on your computer and Windows or Mac will detect it as an external drive device. You will find the new drive under My Computer. The bottom right may display a "found new hardware" or something similar. Once you find your drive, open it and choose what you want to put on it. Just drag everything you need onto the new drive. There is a possibility that you have to format it first. Do do that, just right click on the drive device and choose Format. Use FAT or FAT 32. To remove the USB drive, find Safely Remove Hardware close to the time, right click it and select remove. This is more important on a MAC because data could easily get erased if removed without giving instruction to remove it.
