Orbicam problem The display suddently started flashing (yellow-green image) .Tryied to fix this by removing the drivers and reinstalling them. Now they appear to be installed and the device to be working but there is no display at all and I dont see the green light on the webcam (indicating power).Please help

if you are referring to a usb drive on a computer

click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll down universal serial bus controllers you could see a yellow question / exclamation mark? ! or a red X

you will need to update/reinstall drivers

right click to reinstall drivers

if you can see your usb drive but its not working

ports (com&lpt) right click update driver if this fails to fix the problem

check the USB leads that attach to the motherboard usually red white green black make sure they are securely seated and have no dust build up on them dust will cause static and a lot of unforeseen problems to a computer and its parts

JUST GO TO CONTROL PENEL AND OPEN (ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS) THEN SELECT ORBICAM AND UNINSTALL IT.

DONT FORGET TO VOTE

If you are having a orbicam issues it could be either the Driver or the software /program part of it. I would recommend you go to the Acer webiste and goto support and type your model number in and download the Orbicam software and driver and Reinstall it after you uninstall/remove it from your system and restart first. This should fix your problem you might just have a missing file on the program .Hope my answer gets you closer to a solution.

check for viruses first, then unistall the camera and reinstall the drivers for the camera

For some reason, moving all of your photos into a new folder leaving the old one empty can fix the orbicam, heavens knows why. if that doesn't work, try reinstalling the webcam sofware as follows: (actually, first go to control panel, then check out device manager to see if you have any nasty big checks. If imaging devices has a big check, try reinstalling the driver there. If that doesn't fixya, click on Start, thten Acer Empowering Technology, then Acer E-Recovery, and choose Restore Apps and Drivers at the bottom of Restore tab. It will extract; then click Install for Vista or (XP) on the left - click Drivers - Camera or CCD - on the right side of the screen for your model which you saw in device manager. Please let me know if that doesnt do the trick.

Try to uninstall the drivers for cam. and reinstall the fresh copy. it will extract all the files and the icon will display on desktop. if u double click. it will open the cam. and the image will be black. Right click on the blank picture and select capture image. It will work

you should be able to get the drivers and application from acer.

select notebook, aspire 5100, and scroll down to acer orbicam

you will need to go into the control panel, system, device manager, and check under imaging for acer orbicam, double click it and it should tell you the manufacturer (bison, logitech, suyin)

grab the appropriate driver and camera applications

remove the installed orbicam application via add/remove programs and reboot if necessary prior to installing the new drivers and application.

if this doesn't fix the issue, please post a follwup and i will see what i can find out.
