Your CD might be defective. Try to open it in other drives or computer. Some drives would not accept CDs burned from other drives.

I cannot open the CD door on my Detrola KM837 4 in 1. I push the open button, sounds are emitted like it wants to work, but does not. Any suggestions?

agree with a small hole trick... but don't leave the drive ever empty. Use i.e. dummy CD media always. When you need it, just replace, spin your DVD, than put DUMMY back in the drive. Don't believe? Just try. :-)

Cannot burn cd/dvd on e-machine t-5082

On that tray there is a small pin hole. Straighten a paperclip and push it in there. That should open the drive. Put in a CD and see if the drive spins. If it does it just means that the spring for the drive door no longer works and I suggest you live with it. If, after getting a CD in it the drive won't recognize it you will need to check the cables inside the machine to see if anything came loose. If nothing is loose you probably need to replace the drive.

Dvd-cd rw drive

This means that your CD-rom drive does not read the CD, it could be that the CD is a different format (DVD, for example) or the lens is dirty or Your drive is faulty. see if your drive is compact or dvd and try the right formats. Try clean your CD-drive lens. If all this does not fix the problem, your drive is faulty. And needs repair.

So I was trying to burn a CD and was not able. Once I was able to open the drive the CD was shattered in the drive tray. Any ideas on how this could have happened?

I've had this problem once, I had to crack open the CD Drive to be able to clean it up and reassemble it and worked but with a clattering sound. One reason that this happens is when a CD is not snuggly placed on the tray. There are exact slots on the drive where it should be and when it slightly moves out of it while it is spinning, this causes the CD/DVD to spin out of control and hit the other components inside the drive causing it to shatter.

My f drive wont open

Hi,

if your "F" Drive is a CD/DVD/BD drive there should be a small hole somewhere on the front of it.

Simply insert something like a unfolded paper clip in this hole and the tray should pop out. you can then pull it open to retrieve any disc or check for anything that may be jamming it.

If the drive tray just simply wont open at all and you cant hear the motor spinning, a new drive will be needed, or you could put a new motor in it.

if its still under warrenty send it to be fixed or take it back to the place you bought it for a replacement

Hope this Helps
