As much as yiu can stuff in it. I think the largest at this point is 500GB. I have included a link below for the service manual and specs for that model. Copy and paste the link to your browsers address bar, hit enter. Make sure to make a copy for yourself for future refernce in needed.

and select your exact model. You will find all the drivers there.
As for windows, what version is it upgradable from and to what?
What you need that the driver version must support windows xp.
If you don't have driver for windows xp, you can download it free from you manufacturer's site i.e. from Acer.
Goto that site select your model and OS and make downloads.
