Question about Dell PowerEdge 2600 Server
We had the printer and the scanner connected to the dell power edge server 2600 but suddenly the USB cable is nolonger recognized by the server.
Go to the hardware device manager from Windows, look for the USB Controller devices and press the "delete" key.
Don't worry, this will not remove the hardware, instead that will force the Windows system to re-install the USB controller/ports and will reset the parameters. You might need to reboot the machine after you've done this for the auto-re-install happens
Also, make also sure that you:
- have a USB 1.1 compliant device (which you said you have since it was working before) [early PowerEdge came with USB v1 ports, not USB 2 port, check if your controller shows up as "enhanced" or not; "enhanced" = USB v2.0]
- do not overload your USB power requirements (you can see that from Windows, I think by default USB ports can only supply 500mA per port)

All the ports on the machine doesn't recognize the usb cable. The cables works properly when connected to a different machine.
