Toshiba A215-S4767 will not start up correctly.

First off, Windows just didn't like the way the computer shut off, I would just restart normally and see what happens. Next when it boots up and you get into windows, Go to the control panel > Power Options > go to the hibernation tab and make sure hibernation is unchecked. Next go the setting that reads "shutting the lid". You want to open this setting with a drop down list and pick "Do Nothing", this will keep the laptop from entering standby mode just for shutting the lid. Laptops do not like hibernation or standby modes....windows hates it and will give you all kinds of problems if you continue to use it.

Problems starting up

Hi,
This fault is caused with hibernation settings.
Turn it off in control panel, power options.
Problem will be gone then.

All computers struggle to come out of Hibernation.

ToshibaHotkey

Hi,
go to control panel,power options,
change your power settings
stop Hibernation,
" choose what to do when I hit the power button" etc....

Hibernation causes problems with startups

Don't use hibernation, use standby,sleep
or turn it off completly
should cure the problem

Regards
Richard.

Monitor keeps hibernating, can't make it stop, pixel issue.

Hey,

I think this is more of a problem on your computer instead of the monitor, ofcourse you could try another monitor and see if the same happens. I suspect your computer goes into standby or hibernation on its own, and it does work fine if you reset the computer right?

if you go into power management again, disable or turn off hibernation completely, its on one of the pages.
Make sure its not set to standby, and also disable your screen saver.

Right click on desktop - properties - then screensaver. turn it to none.

Also you could look into the computer bios and make sure its not set to standby or hibernation from there. thats unlikely but you could check.

how to get into bios.. depends on the computer, right when you turn it on, on one of the corners of the screen you will get a message, press button to enter setup or bios. press that to enter bios when its presented.

look around the bios and poweroptions.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks,
Ekse

When computer goes into standby

Unfortunately this happens a lot with standby. My recommendation is to turn standby off or change the options so it doesn't turn the hard drives off. If you want to change the settings or turn hibernate off go into the control panel from the start menu. In there open the power options. In there you can set all the standby options. Try to set the hibernate option to never first. Then if that does not work try changing the hard drive option to never like i described earlier.

ThinkPad T60 Desktop Not Restored After Hibernation/Standby

there is something that runs most of the interface between the user and the computer it is called explorer.exe to get the task manager open, you can try pressing CTRL+Shift+Delete another alternative is to do an OS reinstallation.

To get explorer.exe

1) press Ctrl+Alt+Delete; in unsuccessful try Ctrl+****+Delete
2) if task manager opens click on 'New Task..." (if task manager does not open, consider reinstalling your OS or simply don't go into standby/hibernate)
3) Once you get the New Task dialog box, type explorer.exe or C:/Windows/explorer.exe
