The way to tellif your digital console is bad is to troubleshoot it first. Ifnothing works, you've got a bad console. The digital console is an importantpart of exercising. A manual machine will still work even if the consoledoesn't, but an automated machine needs the console to work so you can adjustthings like speed, resistance and incline. You also can't use programs or seeyour time, distance or estimated calories burned without a working console. Thetwo most common reasons that a console will be dim, display bad results, orwon't turn on are bad batteries and a problem with the reed switch.
    Difficulty:
    ModerateInstructions
    Things You'll Need

        Batteries

Tools that came with your machine
    1. Replacethe Batteries

    o 1
Replacethe batteries first, if your machine has batteries. A manual machine will not need batteries, and instead the console ispowered by your moving the steps. Check your manual if you are unsure of whichbatteries to buy. Different machines will require different batteries. TheNordicTrack Mini Stepper uses watch batteries, but larger machines will likelyneed AA or D batteries.
    o 2
Takeoff the cover to the battery compartment. Remove and discard the old batteries.Replace all of the batteries, not just one if you happen to have one good one. Alignthem correctly with the "+" and "-" signs as shown on thecompartment.
    o 3
Replacethe battery cover and attempt to turn on the console.2. Resetthe Circuit Breaker

    o 1
Checkthe circuit breaker. will have acircuit breaker located on the front of the machine. The console will not workif the circuit breaker is tripped.
    o 2
Pushthe circuit breaker in if it protrudes until it sticks.
    o 3
Tryto turn on the console. Check the circuit breaker for your house if this doesnot fix the console problem.3. Adjustthe Reed Switch

    o 1
Inspectthe reed switch as the information on the display will not be true if the reedswitch is too far from the flywheel on NordicTrack machines such as the MTN740.
    o 2
Unscrewthe two M10 by 82mm button bolts on the right pedal bracket. Unscrew the twoM10 nylon locknuts. Pull off the pedal bracket and set aside.
    o 3
Removethe two M4 by 38mm screws. Remove the three M4 by 25mm screws. Slide the rightside shield off to expose the flywheel, magnet reed switch.
    o 4
Unscrewthe screw that holds the reed switch in place but do not remove it. Slide thereed switch toward the flywheel but leave enough space that the magnet can movefreely. Replace the shield and bracket.

I have a Pro-Form 580X. Power display comes on, but belt won't move. Buttons on display screen won't work either

It seems like you're experiencing issues with your Pro-Form 580X treadmill. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

Safety Key: Ensure that the safety key is properly inserted into the console. Treadmills typically have a magnetic safety key that must be in place for the treadmill to operate.

Circuit Breaker: Check if there's a circuit breaker on the treadmill. If it has tripped, reset it. This is often located near the power cord entry point.

Power Source: Verify that the treadmill is properly plugged into a functioning power outlet. Test the outlet with another device to make sure it's working.

Calibration: Some treadmills require periodic calibration. Check the user manual for instructions on how to calibrate your specific model.

Check for Obstructions: Ensure that there are no obstructions or debris around the belt or underneath the treadmill that might be preventing it from moving.

Lubrication: Treadmill belts may require lubrication. Consult your user manual for guidance on how to lubricate the belt properly.

Control Panel: If the control panel buttons are not responding, it could indicate an issue with the console or wiring. You may need to contact Pro-Form customer support or a technician for further assistance.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it's advisable to reach out to Pro-Form customer support or a qualified technician for a more thorough diagnosis and potential repairs.

My pro form treadmill - panel lights come on but belt not operating? Any ideas how to repair or who would call out - Derbyshire area? Thanks

If the light are on and when pushing the console start button the oval track lights (on the console) should move. If not, then your console is bad. On most Pro Form consoles you have to replace the entire console. Individual parts are not available.
