Question about Yahoo Mail

1 Answer

Yahoo mail When I compose an Email, or attempt to forward an Email I should be able to hit the 1st letter of the reciepient's name and a list of names/addresses of that letter should appear from my address list for me to select from. For example if I am writing to ryanjones@verizon.net, I should be able to hit r and all r addresses will appear. My computer no longer does this.

This did not solve the problem. All boxes were already checked. Hopefully there will be other possible solutions.
    Thanks

Open your internet browswer.... actually if you are reading this it's open.... click tools in the drop down menu click on internet options.... a window will pop up.... pick content tab... you will see a button for auto complete... click on settings and make sure there is a check mark in all the boxes.

click apply if it is there or just ok

Why can't I have the email address come up when I type in a name in the "send to" space

Add your email to your list of contacts to save it so that it will allow you to see it when you type it in the "send to" space.

Unable to compose, reply, or forward in Yahoo Mail for the last 2-3 days

The inability to send, reply, or forward emails could be from a program that was installed on your computer that is now preventing the Yahoo! Mail Rich Text toolbar from launching properly. Try switching from "Rich Text" compose mode to "Plain Text" as a work around:
  1. Sign in to your Yahoo! Mail account.
  2. Click the New button to start a new email.
  3. To the far right of the "Subject" line click the "Plain Text link.
  4. Compose and send your email.
To make "Plain Text" your default when replying or forwarding, do this:
  1. Sign in to your Yahoo! Mail account.
  2. Click "Options," then select "More Options" from the pull down arrow in the upper right corner of your Mail page.
  3. Select "General" from the list of options on the left side of the page.
  4. Check the box next to; When replying & forwarding Mark original message with > (plain text only).
  5. Click the "Save Changes" button in the upper left corner.

Do not post your e-mail address and password online for any reason!

It sounds like you might have a virus on your computer. Do a complete anti-viris and malware scan of your computer.

When i want to forward an e-mail it no longer shows the adress from my contacts when i type in the first letter. how do i fix tis???

Hi, this seems to be an attempt by Yahoo to get more people to try their Beta version of the new Yahoo! Mail. In the standard mail, like you have, typing in the first letter or letters no longer brings up the contacts. You have to click the "To" button to select your contacts, or type in the whole email address.
But if you try the Yahoo! Mail Beta, you can still type in just the first letter and it will bring up the contacts with that letter, just like before. If not having that functionality is a major hassle, I'd advise switching to the Beta mail. (There is usually a link on the lower right side of your mail inbox somewhere.) If you don't like the Beta version, you can easily switch back to standard Yahoo! Mail.
