Samsung F480 mobile bluetooth connection problems

Using the phones bluetooth with our cars hands free has problems. The phone pairs with the car hands free but will disconnect shortly after pairing, approx 1min. It continuously connects, disconnects and then reconnects. It is impossible to make or receive calls. This does not happen with our old samsung u700 or nokia n70. It is only a problem with the f480. Does anyone have a solution.

Same problem with Tocco and bluetooth dropping connection to my 5 series (2005)

  • jmabw Apr 22, 2009

Exactly the same problem, I have had several other phones working perfectly with my BMW X5 bluetooth, but the Samsung Tocco just connects then after a minute disconnects and so on.

I have just updated the firmware but still the same - I have remote sim enabled too!

Any solution would be great - or I am going to have to revert to the Nokia!

I had the same problem : seems that the reason for this, is a double (or multiple) input in the phonebook with the same name : whenever the phone tries to send the contents of the phonebook to the car GPS, it detects the "double" (or multiple) input(s) and does not know what to do with it. Thus the phone blocks ("hangs") and reboots itself. A simple remedy for this : just remove the double input(s) from the phonebook and the problem will be solved.

On my new Ford Fiesta this is the solution. After you've 'bonded' the phone and had it disconnect on you: If you go into 'Music Player' and choose something to play and then press 'Options' at the bottom left of the screen and then select 'Play via' and then 'Bluetooth stereo headset, you can touch the Ford Audio icon and it will connect and STAY connected. I don't understand why this works but it does. You can stop music player and you can even change it to play via the phone in order to play stuff through the car's MP3 input socket but it still stays connected and functions as expected. The only problem is that you do have to do this everytime you get into the car.

I have the same problem pairing to Ford Mondeo bluetooth, other phones will work but not the 480T. I am giving up and buying the next model up and I have tested and it works. Giving the F480T to my son. expensive way to fix problem but it seems to be design fault with the 480tT. I have tried everything and it still disconnects after about 1 minute. Very Frustrating

Sm-g31or5 want to pair with my 07 toyota solara convertible. phone says paired, but not car

Just had to pair for a friend few days ago, Toyou press setupota will pair to audio, but not hands free talk. Not sure exactly what buttons to push on your particular, so I would suggest read your car manual for "Hands Free Bluetooth" Pairing, not just audio pairing. On Toyota that I paired, after you press setup Bluetooth you will have to press "Phone Off" button on your steering wheel to get into hands free pairing, but check your manual to be sure.

What is bluetooth phones

Hello
Bluetooth is a short range wireless communication method that allows a phone to communicate with a set of headphones, an earpiece, an in-car module (provides "hands-free"), an external loudspeaker, or any other bluetooth device by "pairing" the devices together so that the connection requirements are remembered and can be activated whenever the paired devices are within range of each other.
An example is perhaps easiest to understand. I have a bluetooth kit in my car which plays through the in-car stereo. As soon as I start the car engine and therefore give power to the unit via the ignition switch, it automatically finds and links to my Samsung Galaxy in my shirt pocket.
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya
Cheers

Turn on the bluetooth of your phone first: Go to settings>Wireless and Networks>Enable Bluetooth and disable discovery limit in bluetooth settings. After that make sure the bluetooth in your speaker is on and let your phone search the speaker and let it pair with it after that go into your phone's music player and look for its play options and if you see via bluetooth click it.
