It sounds like the guy that put it in your ibook didn't do a good job. Might be loose and needs to be put in more securely.

The unit needs to be put in securely or when the disks spin, the whole unit will ****. That is where you can get your "skips".

Had the same problem on Mac.
Solution: You need to connect device to machine on Linux and give it "eject" command.
Do not to connect device to Windows machine. I was trying to burn cd on Mac. Then it was interrupted in the middle of burning (some files were missing). When I connected drive to Win it tryed to unsuccessfully read it and eventually explorer.exe crushed. And it will not resolve until you reboot the machine.

We have a TEAC stand alone CD copier which has stopped working. It won't copy audio files to the slave disk and we've tried using different blank CDs and different master discs. Sometimes ti looks as if it...

It sounds (pun intended) like the laser part of CD-writer "inside" the unit has failed, thus resulting in "blank" disks.

Disassemble the unit, and replace the CD-writer with any IDE (not SATA) unit.

Trying to burn a playlist from my itunes account and get 4261 error message, what does this mean?

Hi there,

The ITunes error 4261 appears when attempting to burn CD's. The error code can appear for several reasons, including a faulty CD-RW, used CD's or a slow speed burner.

The error may also occur when you are trying to burn a file that has Dynamic Random Memory from ITunes & you have exceeded your permitted attempts.

The error can also happen if you are accessing the files from a different PC than where it was registered.

Try slowing your burn speed to 16x or even 12x or use Nero Express or Windows Media Player to burn your MP3 files. Other techniques for resolving this error include using new CD's & activating DLA in the Drive Properties.

I truly hope that one of these solutions clearly resolves your problem. Good luck.

Kindest regards,

Ste

You need to use a converter to burn it to DVD. DVD's players dont traditionally play compressed files. You can use AVS4YOU
