Maybe you mistyped? Is it 'head or 'header'. I believe it is head you want to say. In that case your printer requires a new print-head to be installed. Your printer has separate ink tanks and heads for printing. The head has a limited life although it works for along time. The printer should indicated which color head needs to be installed. Try cleaning the head with the printer software first. You can purchase the head of that color (or colors if more than one) and follow the install procedure in the printer manual. If you also want head installation instructions, please take some time to post it as a separate question. I will try to give complete instructions.

Four flashes: Empty ink tank One of the ink tanks is empty. Replace it.
Six flashes: No print head installed Install a print head.
Seven flashes: Defective print head Remove and reinstall the print head. Also, ensure that the protective tape has been removed. If reinstalling the print head does not resolve the problem, replace it with a new one.
Eight flashes: Waste ink tank almost full The printer has a built-in waste ink tank for the ink used during print head cleaning. Eight flashes indicates that the waste ink tank is nearly full. Press the RESUME/CANCEL button to cancel the error so you can continue printing. Before the waste ink tank becomes completely full, contact a Canon service representative to have the waste ink tank replaced. Canon recommends to call for service as soon as this error occurs. Once the waste ink tank becomes completely full, printing will be no longer possible.
If you have tried to print a nozzle check page and no ink has been deposited on the page, then it might be a bad logic board inside the printer or a faulty purge unit. Both parts are relatively expensive to purchase. You might be better off looking for a used Canon s520, i550, i850, pixma 3000, or similar model to use the remaining ink cartridges if you can locate one in good condition and not more than 40 USD.
