Try contacting dave@Thola.com , he has fixed several power supply's on protron TV's. He his very reasonable and quick. He fixed my power supply for under 100 bucks and it's working great. I just mailed my power supply to him and got it back within a week. It's worth a shot since Protron is out of business.

Your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
This set model has power supply problems that Protron does not seem to want to fix. The problem is leakage in a diode that eventually shorts a filter capacitor...poor design. Be prepared to buy a power supply board. This is not a component quality issue, it is a P_ss poor design.
Did you install the power supply to your TV?
Have you ask them for a refund by sending them the broken AC adapter you received?
I service these power supplies if Proton co. are unable to solve the issue.
If you need more info send me an email to email@example.com
The capacitors on the power supply are probably leaking. If you can find a tech who still can do component leval repair he can replace the caps, and not the power board.. Much cheaper
The power supply is under rated and don't seem to last long. Maybe a couple of years... If higher voltage caps are used to repair it the longer it will last.
I have a Protron 37: LCD TV. The power indicator does not change to green (the red light is showing) and the TV will not turn on, either by remote or using the power button on the TV. The TV is about a year and a half old. Can you please help me?
